THE TOWN OF CONCARNEAU

A few kilometres from Quimper, nestled in one of the most beautiful bays in Brittany and behind its ramparts, Concarneau reveals the majesty of its Ville Close, a testament to a rich fortified past and a history closely linked to the ocean.
From the iconic belfry to Vauban's fortifications, from cobbled alleyways to bustling quays, these architectural gems tell the story of a city that looks out to sea.
One of France's most important fishing ports, a commercial port, a marina and a passenger port connecting the Glénan archipelago, Concarneau lives to the rhythm of the tides and the seafaring people. Around its bay, the beaches, coastal paths and unspoilt coves form an exceptional coastline, where traditions, expertise and the gentle Breton way of life come together.
