„We had 4 couples and 4 kids, and booked almost 2 years in advance for the eclipse. The Rusty Rio is quaint and what it appears to be....a fun and "campy" spot. The only gripe we had was that when we booked, we filtered rentals that had hot tubs, and hot tub was listed as an amenity. It didn't work, and likely hasn't for many years. „This property has a great location. Super close to everything you need on River Rd. It is stocked with the basic necessities. Plenty of space for everyone. Some of the other reviews mentioned the a/c not keeping up. There are notes near each thermostat telling you exactly how low you can go with the temp. I’m 51. 72 is warm for me but the other guests were ok. We were also on the river during hottest parts of the day. It cooled down nicely at night. 😊“

„Stayed two nights to watch the 2024 eclipse and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pool area with the chaise lounges was perfect for viewing and the river was a nearby alternative. We spent most of our time at the patio table watching the deer and relaxing. The kitchen was well-appointed and we cooked dinner both nights we were there. The pool was a bit too cold for most of us during the day & wished the hot tub was accessible for the cooler nights. Sat around the fire one night & made s'mores. All of us love the Hill Country so this place was great.“

„We enjoyed our weekend stay at The Lonestar Lodge. There was more than we gathered from the pictures. The front porch was nice to sit on with some coffee in the morning, and in the evenings with ceiling fans. The barbecue area also has plenty of chairs and a picnic table to gather while cooking. There is a swing on a tree up front, and a fire pit in the yard to sit around. It is a 2 acre lot with plenty of yard space to play some games and let the kids run around. „There is plenty of room inside and we loved sitting on the swinging bench under the live oaks. There were lots of birds at the property and we were close to some nice natural areas. The kitchen was adequate although a drying rack for the dishes and repair of the faucet would be good additions. The mattress on the bed we used was average.
