Andres, der Rezeptionist war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, die Lage der Lodge ist unglaublich schön, auf einem der Arme direkt am Wasser gelegen, gefühlt mitten im Urwald. Alles sehr sauber und schön gestaltet. Das Zimmer ist geräumig, Warmwasser war vorhanden - eine tolle Experience!

Schöner Pool und tolle Natur
Das Hotel is richtih schön In die Natur eingebettet und man hat Kolibris, Leguane, Affen und mehr in der Hotelanlage. Die Lage ist wirklich ruhig und am Pool kann man super entspannen. Problematisch ist, dass nur 4mal am Tag ein kostenloses Boot über den Fluß auf die andere Seite nach Tortugero fährt, anosnsten muss man jedesmal pro Fahrt 1500Colones für ein Taxiboot bezahlen. Das Essen war OK, aber auch nicht mehr.

Hübsche Anlage abseits des Dorfes
Das Hotel liegt auf einer kleinen Halbinsel abseits des Dorfes und ist deswegen recht ruhig. Es bietet eine kleine Bar, ein Restaurant und einen Pool. Die Außenanlage ist recht gepflegt und lädt zum Verweilen ein. Unser Zimmer bzw. speziell das Bad waren ausreichend, aber in einem sehr schlechten Zustand. Man hat sich dennoch bemüht, unseren Aufenthalt angenehm zu gestalten, obwohl die Anfrage nach einem Ersatz abgelehnt worden war. Abends kann man für einen Fixpreis ein kleines Dreigängemenü bestellen, welches täglich wechselt. Die Bar bietet Aussicht nach Westen über das Wasser und man kann den Abend somit sehr stimmungsvoll ausklingen lassen. Die Mitarbeiter setzten Ihre Gelassenheit und Freundlichkeit unserem anfänglichen Unmut über die Qualität des Zimmers entgegen, sodass der Aufenthalt letztlich doch mit positiven Erinnerungen beendet werden konnte. Für Aktivitäten muss man immer per Wassertaxi ins Dorf. Das Hotel bietet täglich ab und an auch eigenen Transport an.

Es un lugar totalmente rústico. Para llegar, es necesario tomar una lancha. Sin embargo, está muy confortable, limpio y protegido. La comida que ofrecen es muy buena, el entorno es el lago, vegetación, y aves hermosas. Y lo mejor de todo, el trato del personal es excelente (Edgar, el barman, excepcional atención). Para ir al pueblo, también se toma taxi acuático. Toda una hermosa experiencia para relajarse en medio de la naturaleza

The service was incredible and well-suited for our family's needs. The lodges were comfortable and clean, and the staff had great advice for activities and helped us plan out our days to ensure we could enjoy as much of Tortuguero as possible. We appreciate the eco-friendly, family atmosphere and the humble interaction with wildlife. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an adventure in the rainforest!

Endroit très rustique, tranquille et agréable. Seul petit point important a savoir est que Tortuguero est un des endroit les plus humide du Costa rica et les cabines ne sont pas climatisé malgré que un ventilateur de plafond rendait les nuit supportable pour nous si vous ne supporté pas la chaleur ce n'est peut être pas un endroit pour vous.

Waterfront Tropical Cottage
We stayed here with our 1 1/2 year-old and 3 year-old and the staff was very patient and friendly! They were able to make accommodations and provided special assistance with meals, organizing transportation and addressed all our inquiries. We got to see monkeys on the property and many tropical birds. We used the pool and enjoyed the quiet rocking chair dock while waiting for a few passing rain clouds. Excellent-Family Friendly place to say just a quick water taxi away from Tortuguero.

Hotel que no debe dejar pasar de visitarlo
Lo pasamos increíble!!! Mi esposo y yo ya habíamos ido a este hotel y nos encantó. Por eso decidimos llevar a nuestros amigos. Ellos se sintieron maravillados del lugar y de todas las bellezas que tiene Tortuguero. Los jardines del hotel, sus habitaciones y la atención de su personal son excepcionales.

Lovely staff, good breakfast. Note that the wifi is almost non existant at the lodge, and zero wifi reaches the rooms. If you are doing a tortuguero tour, may be worthwhile to make sure they pick you up at the hotel- otherwise you need ti taxi into the main town (~4$ us roundtrip, and a bit of a hassel if youre doing an early morning tour). Pool was very nice. Pricey meals onsite for lunch or supper (15$ us) or you can take the free hotel boat into town at 3pm, returning at 5pm. May be nice to stay right into tortuguero, but this hotel is quiet and and good price.

The property had very nice gardens full of birds and other wildlife, and went from lagoon to lagoon. Very convenient to get to Tortuguero, but removed enough to be quiet and relaxing.

Les chambres sont dans un sale état, lavabo brisé, on voit le jour entre la porte d'entrée et les lattes du planchers les chambres pas fait à tous les jours. La dame qui fait nos œufs le matin air bête. Les serveurs excellents et les personnes à la réception aussi.

Merci beaucoup pour ton commentaire. Nous regrettons que votre séjour chez nous n'ait pas été à votre goût, cependant, nous regrettons votre attitude envers les autres êtres humains. La dame qui a fait les œufs et vous pensiez qu'elle était stupide est notre mère et la propriétaire de l'auberge.

Oasis in Paradise
Beautiful grounds and awesome staff make for a great place to stay while in the area of Tortugero. Separate from the main Tortugero peninsula so you get a break from the busier area but still just a short boat ride away. The lodge is ran by family/friends that are a pleasure to get to know and care about their lodge and the natural beauty of Turtugero.

Hermoso lugar!
Cómo siempre, muy satisfecha con el lugar, la atención, la comida, la hospitalidad. En un ambiente perfecto de descanso y relajación, para disfrutar Tortuguero en todo su esplendor. Lo recomiendo, el lugar es familiar, para amigos, para parejas; cuenta con piscina y está rodeado de naturaleza.

La Baula was quite disappointing for our group. The family room that we booked was really small (although it had 3 beds) and the bugs were insane. We were met at the lodge with a cold drink and that was really nice and there were a couple of staff members that were lovely- however, the front desk staff was overtly rude to us from the moment we checked in. I tried to keep an open mind (cultural differences and all) but after 3 nights I avoided any contact with the desk staff to save myself the humiliation of 'annoying' them any further. The pool is a great amenity and we used it as much as possible because once you have done your tours, there is really nothing to do. The taxi service into the village is expensive (it was 40$ for our group of 7 to go across the river and back). The food is buffet style and was the same every day and lunch and dinner is 15$ pp.- so I would not recommend staying here for more than 2 nights. Also, they allow you to charge meals and drinks to your room, but insisted that you settle up each night. Wanted to like this place more and I think it caters to large tour groups mostly, so probably not ideal for friends traveling together as it felt like expensive summer camp.

We regret that the client has decided to leave this comment anonymously, although we believe we know which of our clients is At La Baula Lodge, we are constantly working to improve the experience of our guests, but we are also aware that despite these efforts, we can eventually have clients who are not entirely happy with our services, however, all our guests are equally important to us and we always take the comments left on the platforms very seriously, both, those of 5 stars and those of 1 star. We apologize for not being able to meet the customer expectations this time. We want to clarify that the water taxi service is not a service that we offer. All our guests are informed, upon arrival, about the times when we offer free water transportation to and from the town of Tortuguero. Service that was used on several occasions by these customers. We also want to let know that we offered them more than a 50% discount on the price of the additional rooms they asked for. We want to assume that the impression shown here by a member of the group does not reflect the feeling of everyone, because even at the time of leaving the lodge, several of them said goodbye very effusively to the staff even leaving tip to several of them. We regret that this customer did not make these comments during their stay at the lodge, as we would have tried to improve our service in order to be more in line with their requirements.
