"If you’re after a stunning view, Duck Bay certainly delivers – the loch is breathtaking. Sadly, that’s where the charm ends. The rest feels like a duck decoy: glossy on the surface, but hollow underneath. Reception staff weren’t rude, but they might as well have been automated – check-in and check-out were delivered in flat monotone, and no one seemed to care that my stay was merely “okay.” The room was basic, with decor so synthetic it practically quacked of plastic. The smell of it lingered until I opened the patio doors – but that just invited in mosquitos. The bathroom was worse: black mould in the shower, a glass shelf that made every bottle placed on it slide off, and water pressure so weak it barely qualified as a shower. To top it off, music from the deserted outdoor area blared into the night. Reception had already shut by 9pm, so I had to call the restaurant to have it turned down. Duck Bay may look the part, but for the price of a supposedly three-star hotel, it’s all plastic feathers and no real duck. I won’t be paddling back."

"Ein fantastisches Gebäude und wir hatten ein traumhaftes und großes Doppelzimmer mit hohen Decken, Himmelbett, freistehender Badewanne und Kamin. Frühstück war auch super. Die Lage ist etwas ab vom Schuss und an mancher Ecke ist vielleicht bisschen der Lack ab, aber wir fanden unseren Aufenthalt wirklich toll und würden das Hotel weiterempfehlen."
