The spa is the only Goldbrauns about this place, the staff is terribly unfriendly and the cleanliness is questionable at best.

The hotel has come in the years, it shows heavy signs of wear and neglect. The spa however is in pristine condition, they should carry that over to the rest.

Unser Hochzeitshotel
Wir haben vor 3 Jahren in diesem Hotel geheiratet und wir und unsere Gäste waren einfach nur glücklich und zufrieden mit Ausstattung, Service und Ambiente. Das Hotel ist ein wenig in die Jahre gekommen, ABER: das genau macht den Charme aus. Der Afternoon Tea ist nicht teuer und sehr lecker (muß vorbestellt werden). Absolut empfehlenswert der Besuch des Restaurants mit Blick in den wunderschönen Garten! Abends kann man entweder im Restaurant essen oder in der Bar, die sehr gemütlich und einladend ist. Das Essen und die Getränke sind nicht teuer, der Service aufmerksam und hervorragend. Wir lieben dieses Hotel!

Clean cute place. Restaurant near (The Plough Inn) has excellent food. Friendly staff. No lifts so stairs to room and lots of doors to go thru to get to room.

We had booked a spa experience so decided to stay the night as well. We only live just over 30 minutes away but it’s nice to just get away and relax and relax we did. Lovely place and staff were fantastic. We ventured into the Cirencester for a look as we had never been and thoroughly enjoyed walking around and discovering all the quaint little shops and indoor market. Would definitely consider another visit in the future.

Great couples retreat
All the staff are really helpful and knowledgeable about the local area and places to go. Food at the hotel is recommended. Definitely worth having dinner there at least one night

We were pleasantly surprised with the size and the ambience of the deluxe feature room. It is more of a suite style accommodation. The staff were friendly and responsive. My only recommendation would be to change the bed to a proper king bed rather than joining two beds, otherwise, the overall stay was comfortable and would recommend to others.

Lovely roo.but noisy floorboards above
The hotel went out of their way to place us in a superb room with king sized bed and walk in shower as per our request. The room itself was lovely, very spacious and well equipped, except we had no towels! They soon appeared once we noted that at reception. Our only downside was the noise from the floorboards of the room above us. Every time the people in the room moved there was a lot of creaking of the floorboards. It was okay for a one night stay but we woukd have asked to move if it had been another night. Such a shame as all the staff were lovely.

No Pool and the Spa isn’t for Guests
We picked this hotel as it was a hotel and spa, which unfortunately turned out to be an exaggeration. There is no pool even though it’s listed as one of the amenities and the “spa (hot tub)” is an additional charge (£25p.p) which is conveniently missed from the hotel description. If we knew the reality of the facilities actually available at this hotel we wouldn’t have picked it for a weekend getaway.

Enjoyed our stay! Great location 20 min walk into town, good pub next door that serves nice food. Bar in the hotel is lovely and the staff were helpful and so friendly in all areas of the hotel. Room was nice the bathroom is the best part of the room with the huge bath. Would recommend!

Has potential but cleanliness needs to be improved
I booked 3 nights to stay with a friend, looking forward to a spa day and enjoying restaurants in Cirencester. The hotel has character and lovely garden. It has the potential to offer a top service but cleanliness let it down. The beds did not have a bed skirt so although the bedding was clean the first think you see are the stains and marks on the base. The room was huge and the bathroom appeared modern and recently upgraded however the back of the bathroom door was filthy as was the edge of the shower screen. When eating lunch in the restaurant we were unsure if the water jug was clean!
