This unique haven of peace, featuring 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms—with a living room and kitchen on each floor—invites up to 10 guests on a timeless journey where everything is beauty, serene bliss… and fascinating discoveries!
Faithfully renovated in the passionate spirit of its creator, Henry Mukkenbrünn, Chalet La Renarde blends Alpine authenticity with bold creativity, rustic bohemian charm with design touches, and mountain charm with contemporary sophistication.
An intriguing, ever-elegant comfort, where paintings, mirrors, decorated planks and beams, and carved wood panels serve as a setting for feasting with the family by the fire of the “flamberge” (rotisserie spit), for reading by the stove, or settling in for a movie night (a large screen and soundbar in the main living room and the master bedroom, with more intimate screens in the other bedrooms).
Henry Mukkenbrûnn, known as Muck, a colorful young Polish man trained in carpentry, sculpture, and folk wood painting—as well as elite sports—arrived in 1924 for the Chamonix Olympic Games, never to leave again. With the help of a Hungarian cousin, he built La Renarde in 1936. He later became a ski instructor and guide until his death in 1956 under mysterious circumstances while ascending the Vallée Blanche to smuggle a contrabandist into Italy...
