Our family room was extremely old and run down. Spiders and cobwebs everywhere. The carpet was totally filthy. It stank horribly, so that it burned the lungs. Breakfast is only available from 8 am. As we had to get to the Eurotunnel earlier, we tried to get something to eat at 7.30 a.m., but this was not approved, although everything was already laid out and ready. The only thing to recommend is the restaurant in the evening, which unfortunately is not the point here. It's great and very tasty.

Nettes Landhaus nahe bei Canterbury
Ein ruhig gelegenes Haus in einem malerischen kleinen Ort. Die eigene Gastronomie besteht aus einem typisch englischen Pub und einem Restaurant, in dem man englische Küche in guter Qualität bekommt. Das Haus ist Denkmalgeschützt, daher z.T. etwas.beengt.

Locaton of the Hotel is ruruel but near enough to Canterbury for good visits, also Quick conection to the M20 if you whant to go to the Coast or up to London. The Hotel has a super bar and a very good Restaurant.

Man muss es erlebt haben.....
Preis Leistung ist in einem Maroden Land wie England relativ. Aber für 100 Pfund pro Nacht haben wir auf unserer Rundreise auch sehr viel schlechtere Quartiere bezogen. Ein sehr romantisches, uraltes Gasthaus mit dem besonderen Etwas das wir such wieder buchen würden, wenn wir es wieder finden

Hübsches Hotel im kleine country village.
Nette begrüsung im Hotel, da gabs viel zu siehen in Chillham Village, und dei besuch in Canterbury war fantastic mir had das Cathedral am besoders gefalen.

Nettes Familienzimmer mit super Pub
Eine tolle Lage, wenn man von der Fähre kommt und Canterbury auch"mitnehmen" möchte. Gemütlich! Freundlich. Expedia muss aber unbedingt dazu schreiben, dass das Inn in Chilham ist und nicht in Canterbury. Wir haben sehr lange gesucht.

Abgelegenes antikes Gasthaus mit Charme der leider durch die muffigen Zimmer und dem nicht einladenden Badezimmer ein dickes Minus erhält. Das Frühstück war gut, Personal war aufmerksam.

We had a good stay, the pub is lovely! The decor is stunning and very cosy and the food, including breakfast was amazing! The owners are so friendly and welcoming. The room had everything we needed and was very comfortable. We had one very lovely quiet evening and would have put 4 stars if it had stayed that way. But the second night there was a loud group staying in the hotel, and there is no sound proofing, with wooden floors / ceiling you could hear every step and creak and their entire conversation. We loved everything else about our stay but the noise was too much. Would ask for a room with no one above us next time.

We were staying in the 4 bed appartment and there was a strange and strong smell of fungi. We söeot with open windows but is was not disappearing. After arrival at home our night clothes were still smelling. Not sure that this is not a risk for health.

Only a couple of the staff wanted to work. Couldn’t get a drink, when we returned back to the hotel,10.30 pm but the bar still had a dozen people in. Breakfast was not the best, but had a nice evening meal.

A Lovely Coaching Inn
The Woolpack is a lovely Inn to stay at. Fabulous food and a well kept bar. Popular with the locals and great fun. The single rooms for travellers are too small and dated.

BEAUTIFUL LOCATION
The location is Chilham, which is a beautiful village. We had a room on the ground floor, at the back of the pub, unfortunately there are rooms above and because of the age of the building there is a lot of noise from creaking floorboards and people walking up and down their respective floors. Request a first floor room if you stay. Pub only had a limited range of beers available. We ate at the White Horse pub just up the bank from the Woolpack, range of beers was far better and food was amazing. Woolpack is a good choice - it just needs to up its game.

This is a beautiful historic hotel. Unfortunately, while we were there, the hot water for our room went out, but they got it fixed quickly and we were able to shower with hot water in morning. Unfortunately, the delay made it impossible to make it to breakfast on time and there was not a lot of flexibility there, though we could have better communicated the situation. Overall, it was a very peaceful place to stay - - I slept better there than many places along our journey. And the food we had in the restaurant for dinner was magnificent. The staff are good but more internal communication about our situation could have been helpful.

Definitely Not 4*
This used to be a lovely old coaching inn until the new owners ripped the heart out of it destroying all the original features and painting everything Grey ! The room was very poorly furnished and decorated and in no way was this a 4* cheap painted wooden bed frame was Creaky & falling apart in places . Have had better bed linens in a travel Lodge! Even the pillow cases were inside out. Mattress was hard , was clean but not comfortable whatsoever, very basic accommodation , one step up from a hostel ! Food was poor , should have guessed not to expect much when we were the only other Diners. Table was booked for 8 and by 8:20 we were being rushed to order as kitchen was closing, bear in mind it was Saturday evening & originally we could have booked a table for 9 . They charge gastro pub prices but not gastro pub quality . No atmosphere in bar & almost empty so we went back to the Whitehorse up the hill where we had an amazing evening ( and Sunday lunch next day) we obviously declined to stay for breakfast so can’t comment on that Chilham is a lovely village and we will be back , just Not Here .I wish we had stayed here before they destroyed it.

With no doubt, the service we received from the owner at the Woolpack was simply wonderful. It's rare to find someone who cares as much for his guests these days. The Woolpack is a little gem and deserves to succeed.
