I've stayed here before,3 or 4 times now, this trip I booked in for 3 nights. My previous stays I felt it was what was to be expected of a Holiday Inn Express, good value for your dollar, clean, up to date, comfortable. But now there seems to have been an ownership change and it shows. Here are some of the things that upset me:
1. Returning to my room after a day of work I found the door was left open by the maid staff, the room was made up but no clean towels. I went down and notified the desk clerk, she made a note of it but nothing was done. no towels.
2. Stained towels, what appeared to be fresh blood on a pillowcase. My bed that was made with the top sheet on the outside of the duvet not protecting you from it.
3. a general sense of economies taking over, the hair dryers removed from the rooms, no OJ at the breakfast bar, an elevator that is out of service and appeared to have been for some time.
I don't like to throw anyone under the bus but I do spend 70/80 nights a year on the road and there are to many other places to stay in Calgary to waste my money at this hotel.
