Great Hotel with perfect Location
We stayed there 3 nights, really nice hotel, very friendly staff, nice rooms, great breakfast, perfect location ( restaurants&bars 2-5 min walking distance) also a small gym is 2 min away, parking was also perfect and free. Room had an fridge. I would book it anytime again

Von der Lage hatte ich mir mehr versprochen, aber das hotel lag direkt an der Straße und war entsprechend laut, auch leider kein Zugang zum Meer. Das Frühstück eher nicht so, die Angestellten aber sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit

Nicht zu empfehlen
Das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen. Man benötigt kein Auto zum Zentrum mit vielen Restaurants und Bars. Wir waren mit unserem Aufenthalt im Hotel nicht zufrieden. Es waren am Hotel und in den Zimmern Renovierungsarbeiten. Die Angestellten im Hotel waren nicht gut informiert und konnten unseren Wünschen eines früheren Wechsels nicht nachgehen. Wir mussten såmtliche Nächte bezahlen, trotz des früheren abreisens. Der Zimmerkomfort ist tief. Keine Klimaanlage und viele Moskitos. Das Bett ist wie ein Holzbrett und die Dusche nicht regulierbar. Man kann nur heiss duschen. Wir würden ihren dieses Hotel nicht weiterempfehlen. Zum Schluss unser Aufentahlt in Costa Rica dauerte 3 Wochen. Sind uns einen tiefen standard gewohnt. Jedoch pura vida in diesem Hotel ist nicht das Moto. Dies ist eine Abzocke. Wollten unseren unmut direkt beim Chef kundtun. Leider war er nie anwesend und das Personal nicht kompetent. Grüße

Sehr schönes Hotel
The Lizard king gehört seit 8 Monaten Louis und Bethany. Einem sehr reizenden, immer freundlichen und ambitionierten Paar. Auf unserem Trip durch Costa Rica waren hier die Zimmer am schönsten. Mit allem was man braucht. Wirklich sensationell allerdings war das Frühstück mit selbst bebackenem Brot, sehr gutem Gallo Pinto und einem Müsli, dass bis zum Abendessen gesättigt hat. Wir haben uns bei den Beiden sehr wohl gefühlt und können jedem, den es nach Puerto Viejo verschlägt, diese Oase nur wärmsten empfehlen

The female manager was not nice or helpful but the male receptionist was really nice and even went out of his way late at night to let us know our car lights were still on. It would have been awful to wake up to a dead car battery. The hotel itself was quieter than I expected being right on the main street of Puerto Viejo but we had a room in the back area. They do not provide breakfast. It's in a good location.

"I had reserved two rooms, but unfortunately, both of them had a bad smell. Although the staff tried to address the issue with freshener, it only worked temporarily and the smell returned in the evening, making it difficult to sleep. In addition, there was loud music coming from neighboring properties, which added to the unpleasant experience. As a result, I would not recommend this place and would not consider returning.

We were at Lizard King during some rainy days and loved the balcony/2nd floor lounge areas. My husband was able to open his laptop - and work in a very comfortable area.

Nice location just on the edge of the village, totally walkable to the center of town in 5-10 minutes. Lovely pool and wonderful upstairs open air lounge to hang out in. Only downfall was street noise that affected sitting pool side.

The room was spacious and clean. The air conditioner work very well. The pool was clean and wonderful. The breakfast that was included was delicious and filled us up. We would stay here again.

Siento que el precio es elevado para lo que ofrecen. No hay tranquilidad. Para poder dormir y descansar había que pedir a los de recepción que callaran a los huéspedes cerca de nosotros, el piso del segundo piso es de madera y toda la bulla y cada paso de los huéspedes de arriba se escucha abajo y toda la noche. Solicité almohadas extras y nunca me las llevaron. El área de lavado no tenía luz, por lo que asearse y maquillarse era casi imposible. Las sillas de la cafetería muy duras y altas. La calidad de un desayuno típico, demasiada baja. Parecía más comida nicaragüense que tica.

No pierdan su plata.
Porqueria de hotel...no pierdan la plata, la misma persona que limpia las habitaciones, limpia la pisicina, y resulta que también prepara las bebidas y la comida. No considero que sea culpa de la gente trabajadora que presta sus servicios al hotel, sino de los propietarios y/o administradores quienes obviamente no consideran importante la correcta manipulacion de alimentos. Gracias a eso, las 4 personas que fuimos sufrimos infeccion gastrointestinal.

Siempre hemos trabajado muy duro por brindar la mejor experiencia a nuestros huéspedes, lamentamos el hecho de que se hayan enfermado pero no se puede asegurar que haya sido en nuestro hotel ya que nosotros mantenemos una excelente higiene en todas las áreas y del personal como tal, se siguen los correctos protocolos para el lavado de manos, manipulación de alimentos y así mismo con el uso de guantes y redes para el cabello. 2. Las operaciones de un hotel pequeño no son iguales a las de uno grande, en un hotel grande se tienen personas específicas para cada labor, en un hotel pequeño las labores de traslapan (actividad que además es muy característica de la zona y por la abundancia de hospedajes con pocas habitaciones). 3. El asignamiento de personal para labores completamente específicas también podría implicar un crecimiento en los costos por lo que la tarifa final podría afectar directamente a nuestros huéspedes. Reiteramos que siempre mantenemos una estricta higiene en el hotel y con las personas que trabajan con nosotros. Nunca hemos tenido anteriormente problemas de huéspedes con infección gastrointestinal y esto habla bastante sobre la limpieza real que se manifiesta en el hotel. Esperamos su pronta recuperación. Nice place to stay.
Missed our shuttle connection from the airport so had to delay arrival by one day. Was able to email the Lizardking and they were ready for us when we arrived. Pool was nice, breakfast was good. All of the staff were pleasant and helpful. Close to plenty of places to eat, had fridge in room with a grocery store within walking distance. The beach was across the street. Very narrow beachfront but very busy on weekend. Any questions or issues we had were readily taken care of. They made it easy to arrange tours to see things in the area. They rented bikes, if you are interested. A very nice, rustic room with good water pressure in the shower. We were very happy with our stay.

Staff was exceptional in every way, breakfast was delicious, and room was super clean (so was the property and pool) and left nothing to be desired. I now know why it was recommended by friends for our stay. Loved it!
