wonderful
We stayed for one night and had a wonderful time. The room was spacious and well equipped. Everything has been very tidy. The mattrass was kind of a dream. The breakfast has been absolute delicious. Would love to come back again. The location is perfect. Directly in the center and within all of the historic buildings.

Das Hotel liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe des Zentrums gegenüber einer herrlichen Parkanlage
Meine Erwartungen wurden mehr als erfüllt. Lage und Service sind bestens. Gut per Bahn und Auto zu erreichen . Lediglich die Parkmöglichkeiten sind auf öffentliche Parkplätze beschränkt und die wollen ab 8:00 in der Früh bezahlt werden. Das stört das Frühstücken und die Planung am Morgen etwas.

The name says it all this is a lovely old hotel in a great location. I had an overnight stay after seeing a show at the Opera House opposite the hotel. I booked a double room and was given room 32 on the 2nd floor. A spacious room with a lovely bathroom which had a great sized walk in shower. The bed was comfy and I had a great nights sleep. The breakfast was adequate but a little disappointing there was a small selection of cereals and juices, the cooked breakfast was buffet style, not my personal favourite. The breakfast staff weren’t the cheeriest, a smile wouldn’t go amiss. Despite this I would probably stay again, yes it’s an old hotel it has creaky wobbly floors and climbing the stairs after a glass or two of wine was an experience but it’s all part of the charm.

Really amazing hotel with history. Bathroom could do with updating in the room we were in but generally everything was clean and the bed was super comfy. We stayed in a dog friendly room.

Staff are what makes this property outstanding they are so helpful especially the girls on the reception desk who responded to my email requests . Rooms are very quaint ours has a floor that tilted but it was clean and had everything you needed in it . Food was good , Wi-Fi a good speed and parking was ok even on a weekend

The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant, and the hotel was full of character. We stayed in a four poster bedroom, which was lovely. The breakfast in the morning was also very good. We would return.

Warm welcome
It was our second visit and we weren’t disappointed. The reception was warm and welcoming, all the staff apart from the restaurant were lovely. The only downside this visit was the staff doing breakfast, we arrived for breakfast and weren’t greeted by anyone, none of the staff made any effort to inform us of the breakfast situation. I had to ask which I don’t particularly mind but it was not a very nice experience overall for first thing in the morning. Will return though as we had a lovely stay.

Perfect location
Great for those like us who live historic buildings. This is a real gem and the catering in the restaurant is such good value for money we will eat there even if not staying in the hotel.

Lovely stay
Loved the oldie worldie hotel. Had a fantastic stay. Perfect position for everything. Room was big. Breakfast was lovely. (Not overly hot though) loved the black pudding. Service was exceptional on all levels. Only thing I could complain about was the mattress wasnt very comfy. Could feel the springs.

Lovely old character hotel in brilliant location
We really enjoyed our stay in lovely old building. Room was cozy and warm with nice shower. Breakfast excellent overlooking main park. Parking on street easy and convenient. £5 for 24 hours. Bed was slightly small but we are quite tall.

Buxton is an old spa town and absolutely stunning. There is everything here you need, fabulous shops, bars, restuyand cafés and surrounded by miles of hiking possibilities. The Old Hall Hotel is situated right in the middle of Buxton, making it very convenient, with a lovely view over the park and just opposite the opera house. Parking is available outside and a day ticket can be purchased from reception. The hotel is clean and staff are very attentive. There isn't much in the hotel or the rooms though. It's basic and could do with a refurb and upgrade but it's good value for money. Fine for a short stay which we did. The rooms are smallish, there is no safe, no mini bar no fridge or hairdryer. The hotel has a breakfast room a bar and a restaurant, no other extras. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found it very practical to be right in the middle of Buxton to have a choice of so many fabulous places we could reach on foot and go walking.
