Wunderschönes altes Grand Hotel mit Charme und unglaublicher Aussicht auf den Lago di Varese und das Monterosa Gebirge. Es war zur Weihnachtszeit festlich dekoriert und voller Lichterketten. Das Frühstück war für italienische Verhältnisse sehr reichhaltig und das Abendessen im Restaurant Liberty lohnenswert. Im Sommer ist es sicherlich noch schöner auf der herrlichen Säulenterrasse zu sitzen. Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort übernachten.

Average hotel. Okay for one night in Milan. Parking facilities are very limited: You have to be lucky to be able to park your car within the hotel premises. No valet parking. Breakfast features a wide range of choice while quality is average. In the rooms it is noticeable that the hotel is not aging well. Lacks of maintenance, especially in the bathroom. Nice and cool temperature even in summer, but while the a/c can be switched off, the ventilation cannot - which can be uncomfortable at night. Ambiance generally nice and pleasant scents in room and lobby. The lady at check-out was very kind and professional, which cannot be said of the colleagues we met at check-in. All in all: Not terrible, but you might find better options at better locations.

Based on the pictures provided by the hotel and the 4-star rating, this hotel does not live up to the claimed standard. Everything is old (although functional) with many things falling apart. Most personal is nice and helpful, breakfast choices are limited but sufficient. One can find many stains on the ceiling, floor, carpet, furniture etc. The entire hotel was probably built in the 70-ies and never renovated. Considering the price, one should not expect luxury. Big advantage is location very close to the key attractions of Milano. Also, subway is just 3 minutes away i. e. getting around is very easy and convenient. Public parking just next door, place can be reached quite easily by car.
