4/10 – Schlecht

Our stay at Palermitano Hotel was unfortunately one of the more frustrating hotel experiences we’ve had, mainly due to the extreme street noise.
We were given a room facing the main road, and despite the hotel’s stylish appearance, the windows offered almost no sound insulation. It genuinely felt as if the cars were driving through the room. Resting during the day was impossible, and sleeping at night required earplugs (which were not available when requested). The wall also bordered a jazz club with live music until around 1–2 a.m., which made it even harder to relax. Changing rooms was not possible.
The room itself was okay but below expectations for the price point: the sink didn’t drain properly, the bed was fine but not great, and there was no in-room coffee maker or complimentary water. Breakfast was simple but acceptable, and the staff was generally friendly.
There’s a complimentary wine-and-cheese hour in the evening, which is a nice touch and helps a bit to balance the overall impression.
It might be a very different (and better) experience in one of the rooms facing the backyard, but for street-facing rooms, the noise makes it extremely hard to recommend — especially at around $200 per night.
