Bryn Alun is a charming detached cottage situated in the village of Tanygrisiau, just over a mile from Blaenau Ffestiniog. This cottage sleeps two people in one double bedroom. Ground floor shower room. The cottage also has an open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with open fire. Off road parking for 1 car, plus roadside parking. Enclosed lawned garden with furniture amid beautiful mountain scenery. Birdwatchers/hikers/cycling guests are welcome. Secure bike storage and bike washing facilities available. Blaenau Ffestiniog steam railway to Porthmadog and standard railway station with trains to Llandudno are both within easy reach, approx a 5 to 10 minute walk or a 5 minute car drive. Lakeside Cafe is only a 5 mins walk. Sorry, no smoking and no pets/dogs. Shops and pub 1.5 miles. This property can only accept check ins on a Friday. Please note that there are steps leading into the property, and the accommodation is set out over two floors

The traditional Welsh village of Tanygrisiau, meaning "below the steps'' is situated within reach of Blaenau Ffestiniog. The village stands amongst dramatic scenery, and Tanygrisiau is a good starting point for many walks, especially if your intention is to climb Moelwyn itself. Tanygrisiau railway station is on the famous Ffestiniog Railway, a narrow gauge railway built to carry slate from the mines down to the sea at Porthmadog; today it is a renowned tourist attraction providing stunning views on its trip to the coast.
