The hotel made me wait for nearly an hour and a half to allot a king-bed room, which was finally provided at 5:30 PM. This was despite the fact that I had visited the hotel at 8:30 AM and discussed my room requirement in advance. There was no senior staff member available to address the issue at the time. Due to this mismanagement, I had to cancel my dinner reservation as well as an important meeting.
Room service was extremely disinterested and unprofessional. While placing a food order over the phone, I was put on hold so that the staff could take another order, and they called me back only after 15 minutes to take my order. I had specifically requested ice and lemon along with the food, but these were not provided. When I reminded the staff again at the time of food delivery and requested ice and onions, it took another 30 minutes and a second follow-up for them to bring it, by which time I had already finished my meal.
At check-in, I had requested the Duty Manager to ensure that a senior staff member met me before checkout to address these concerns; however, this request was also not taken seriously.
Overall, the service was extremely poor. The staff and management showed a clear lack of concern for guest experience, which is completely unacceptable from a brand like Mayfair.
