The house was SUPERB - spotlessly clean and bright and very well equipped with everything we needed, and more!! Although there were a few houses roundabout, the garden and outdoor seating areas had very pleasant outlook, watching the cimings and goings of allbthe nesting birds ( mid May), including tge extremely acrobatic, etherial swifts/martins, nestng in the eaves of the house - beautiful!
The Lindisfarne inn and Londis garage shop almost next door proved very handy - great food and very efficient, friendly service. We didn't realise that the road down to the Holy Island causeway was quite so far away from the house, as we envisaged walking down and across the causeway on the sands at low tide, but afraid our tired 70 year old legs (all of us, are around that age) wouldn't have been able to manage that 😏, but the day we did choose to go onto the island by car, was the best day of the week, weatherwise
with sunset to sunrise, with a lovely fresh breeze - perfect!
