Spacious villa beautifully surrounded by nature
Surrounded by nature the villas with a view on the sea are very spacious. There is a free boat transfer from Bocas Town. Free transportation by golf cart is provided to get to the different spots within the resort. The beach is extremely beautiful. Since one of the two restaurants was closed there were not many possibilities for breakfast or diner. The market is very expensive and has not much variety.

Desperate Housewife Hotel
I had a strange filling in this Hotel. Actually, you have to take a boat for 10 minutes from Bocas main island. You are received at the marina and you get a golfkart to drive to your villa. We had choosed a shared villa. For the richest you can get your private villa. The villas are very big. you have even a small swimming pool per villa. All the villas are neighboor. It has been built like the Desperate Housewife town. It's not what I was expecting at all. On the other side, the complex has two "restaurants". They are not at all at the same quality level as the villas. The main restaurant looks like a cafeteria for teenager camp. The other is a beach restaurant, which is like a real beach restaurant. On the beach, you don't have sunbathseats. The Staff was very helpful. The villas rooms very cleen except under our bed (where it was apparently not done before we get in). During our stay, the cleening was not done. When you want to go on the main island to have dinner, you have to pay 10$/pers (return included) to the hotel boat.. Otherwise the other hotel gests are only US people. In average I think it's too expensive for what it is.

Guests enjoy the beauty of the villas, the beaches close by and the jungle and nature feeling you get when staying with us. Wir haben 3 Nächte in einer shared Villa im Januar 2014 verbracht. Die erste negative Überraschung erfolgte beim check-in, wo unsere Reservierung nicht auffindbar war. Grund war ein Abstimmungsproblem mit hotels.com - scheinbar jedoch nicht das erste Mal. Nach einer Wartezeit von 4 Stunden wurde uns dann ein Zimmer in der Villa zugeteilt, was jedoch noch nicht unserer Buchung entsprach (twin Beds, kein eigenes Bad). Die Einrichtung der Villa ist sehr hochwertig und geräumig und größtenteils sauber. Insgesamt kann man sich das Haus wie eine große WG vorstellen, da Küche, Wohnzimmer und Pool von den bis zu 4 Parteien gemeinsam genutzt werden. Die Wege auf der Insel sind teilweise lang und deswegen kann ein Golf-cart hinzugebucht werden (die Strände sind in ca. 15min zu Fuß zu erreichen). Das gastronomische Angebot besteht aus 2 Restaurants in der Nähe: Ein Strandrestaurant mit abwechslungsreichem, aber hochpreisigen Angebot sowie einer "Sportsbar" mit einfachen Gerichten. Alles in allem etwas einseitig und es ist zu empfehlen, Lebensmittel aus Bocas mitzubringen. Alles in allem war es ein sehr schöner Aufenthalt, aber leider nicht die erhoffte Krönung unseres Panama-Aufenthalts.

We really liked our stay at the villa, the only thing what was missing is a "club"-house closer to the villa. We had to walk about 20 minutes to the restaurant. That a golf car is available with additional cost was not mentioned in the packages. Overall a nice island and a very cool place "bocas del toro".

This property is very big and so beautiful. The buildings have been situated so well that most of the time you feel like you are alone in the jungle. The villas are amazing! We had so much space and such high quality finishes. The private pools were kept clean and were just what you need in Panama. The staff was so accommodating. You could send a message on WhatsApp and they would help you out. We are pretty fit and did a lot of walking up and down to our villa at the very top of the site and enjoyed it very much, but if you text them, they will bring a small truck or a golf cart to drive you wherever you want to go. They arrange for launchas for you and you can visit other islands or BastiTown. This was the surprise hit of our amazing trip! I so wanted to see a sloth in its habitat and we did see a few as we wandered, but the highlight was when one chose to sleep in the tree right next to our villa. Also, so many red frogs if you take some of the unpaved paths near the beach.

The villa we stayed in was beautiful, spacious and the grounds were stunning and super private. Full of wildlife! The whole Red Frog area was amazing if you like a VERY quiet, subdued vacation. There is no shopping, not even a gift shop, and very few restaurants which are also often closed. This was an adjustment but we loved the atmosphere and lack of crowds/commercialization. We were oddly "upgraded" to a 3br villa for no apparent reason. I'm not sure if it was actually an upgrade as we didn't need 3 bedrooms. The one thing that really bothered all of us was the incredibly hard beds. I mean ROCK hard! My husband and I weren't able to sleep well the whole trip which really made it hard to enjoy our time. We're also not used to sleeping in a queen size bed. The descriptions of the amenities online are very misleading. They seem to lay out the facts of one villa, when in reality, each villa is completely different. The description online said there were 3 br, 4 ba. It said there was a king size bed in the master, and another bedroom that had 2 twin beds - these were 2 things very important to us. When we arrived there were 2 br with queen beds and 1br with a twin bed, and only 2 bathrooms. They really need to change the online information to be accurate. At the time of our visit the island was in a drought so water was sometimes off. Also, the pools were only filled about 3/4 full and some not at all. Our private pool was HOT and really needed cleaned by the 3rd day.

Total paradise! I stayed here with my husband and two young children (ages 3 & 7). We were upgraded from our two bedroom accommodation to a three bedroom villa with private pool. The accommodation was beautiful, well maintained, have a fantastic ocean view, and was absolutely perfect for our family! The resort shuttle came promptly to pick us up when we requested it. The staff were always extremely helpful from booking water taxis to delivering dinner to us via their golf cart shuttle. I could go on forever about this resort! The beach was beautiful, the waves were huge! I did read about strong riptides, and kept my small children close to me and near the shore and didn't have any issues. Such a wonderful paradise. I strongly recommend staying here!

We especially liked the boat excursion the hotel booked for us, with our Captain Arturo, we toured one of the Zapatillo islands, snorkeled, saw a few dolphins, it was the highlight of our stay. The staff was overall awesome, they picked us up in the golf carts, they were friendly and polite. The rest of the Resort was alright, the restaurants were fine. The whole experience was pretty laid back if you don't expect attention immediately you'll like it ok. The place is so spread out a bit, but it's overall walkable, it seems like they are spread a bit thin for staff. Not a swimming beach area really.

So, the first thing you should know is that this is really a real estate venture that is also operating as a bit of a hotel, using villas with individual rooms of the villa rented out separately. Maybe this is temporary until they complete the development and sell everything off? It shows in a variety of ways. Rooms are separated by a locked door, but it's a single door so you can hear EVERYTHING from next door. The pool area would be fine if the same group was occupying the whole villa, but the space around it isn't very wide so sitting by the pool, you're staring straight into someone else's room at quite close quarters. Food in the Rosa Restaurant is OK (and breakfasts are good), but it lacks any atmosphere because most of its business in the evening seems to come from people collecting take away food to eat in their villas (maybe they own them?). Better to walk along the public beach to the Palmar Bar and Restaurant - there's some Caribbean atmosphere and pretty good food which is better value too. Finally, don't even think about using the hotel's laundry service. It's hideously expensive! All in all, it was just OK. It could be so much better if only it were designed for the purpose for which it's being used......and for the price being charged, it probably should be.

For privacy and laundry, I would definitely recommend a full Villa (equipped with washing machine and dryer) instead of a 1bedroom studio with shared pool. We will review the description of the different accommodations to help our future guests make informed decisions.Thank you kindly for your comments from La Rosa. Very nice —a few things to consider
Very nice place. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Sergio and Enrique went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The villa was amazing — a lot of comfort in the middle of the jungle. It was spotless. I would have liked to receive more information about the villa before and upon arrival. No one explained to us where things were or what to do with trash, for example. You definitely need a golf cart if you want to move freely around the resort. I would have liked to know that food options are quite limited and we could have brought our own food to cook in the villa. We found the place a bit pricey for the level of service/amenities. We were particularly disappointed with the food and service at la Rosa restaurant. Nature is impressive! Upon arrival we saw red frogs and three sloths. We were able to see monkeys too. Overall, we really liked the peace and quiet and quality of the villas and we will be back better prepared and knowing that this is like renting a summer home.

Un furto di soldi, in seguito i nostri perché. Già il solo nome Resort non c’entra nulla con quello che propone questa struttura. Loro hanno case e appartamenti sparsi ovunque, la maggior parte in vendita e vogliono dare l’idea di un resort.In funzione/operativo c’era un solo ristorante,neanche molto buono.Il loro cosiddetto BeachClub in 3 giorni consecutivi che siamo stati lì,non aveva mai degli asciugamani per noi. Un giorno erano esauriti, un giorno chiuso la lavanderia, un giorno non avevano abbastanza perché il tempo non era bello.Per spostarsi dalla reception, al negozio alimentare (con scarso fornimento frutta e verdura), al Beach club, al nostro alloggio ci avrebbe fatto comodo un golfcart. Ma non ne avevano a disposizione per affittarle, in quanto erano in manutenzione. Si, potevi farti portare in giorno, chiamando la reception e ti venivano a prendere, ma non é proprio una scelta “flessibile” per chi come noi in vacanze desidera spostarsi liberamente. Era piacevole fare delle passeggiate, ma così ogni giorno facevi km e km solo per spostarsi per comperare anche una solo bottiglia di acqua.Il nostro JungleLodge era ok,ma dei 65m2 promessi nella prenotazione ci mancavano al meno la metà.Non c’era una cassaforte, la porta del balcone era stata scassata e rotto. In 4giorni non erano capaci e farci una unica pulizia, promesso da prenotazione servizio giornaliero. Neanche un cambio asciugamano! Struttura per noi sopravvalutata e decisamente troppo caro, pessimo!

Upon arrival we were informed our Jungle Lodge unit had A/C issues and we were upgraded to a Villa. The unit was clean and very spacious. However, the kitchen was very poorly furnished and what was included was not well-maintained. The knives were broken or very very dull and the dishwasher did not work. EVERYTHING else was wonderful. One suggestion I would give is to arrange a golf cart rental way ahead of if time if you think you need or want one.

Great resort, lovely beaches and exotic animals
We stayed 7 nights in a villa. Ample space, good a/c, great views and our own pool. What’s not to like! The adjacent clubhouse is really nice with lovely pool and views. The food and drinks are great but expensive - as expected at luxury resort on an island. There isn’t a proper breakfast place at the resort as the clubhouse only opens at 12 noon. We tried breakfast at Selinas Red Frog, didn’t like it much. Poor food quality for the money and horrible coffee. There are much better and cheaper eating options at the nearby Palmar resort - go there for breakfast instead. Or make you own at the villa. The Red Frog Deli Supermarket stock what you need for basic cooking and they have the best coffee, made on a proper espresso machine! And the staff will shuttle you around the premises in electric golf carts, so it’s easy and effortless to get around this rather big estate. Just make sure to set up a WhatsApp account as it makes communication with reception much easier. Living on the edge of a rainforest has its pros and cons. There are quite a few bugs around, so remember to bring bug spray against mosquitoes and sandflies. On the plus side, it is great for animal spotting. We saw sloths, big iguanas, tiny red frogs and had a group of monkeys passing by our villa every other day. Amazing stuff! The beautiful golden beaches on Isla Bastimentos are proper world class, especially if you like body surfing in the waves.

Breath-taking property! The staff was wonderful. So helpful arranging boat taxis. We enjoyed taking the golf cart to Polo beach. We saw monkeys and sloths on the property. Très beau cadre. Resort agrable. un peu cher.
Notre chambre dans la villa front de mer etait très spacieuse,très bien située. Ce serait bienvenu s'il y avait des fauteuils plus confortables sur les balcons. Réf Frog Beach est un beau Resort. Le personnel est agréable et attentionné. Par contre les tarifs aux deux restaurants sont selon moi trop élevés pour ce qu'ils offrent, même si c'est bon. Le cadre est très agréable avec deux grandes plages.

Red Frog Beach Resort
Facility was great, Point restaurant was our favourite. Ricardo was just great and went over and above to make our lunches special. The other restaurant, the one by Tortuga Beach was not so good. Tried it once and elected to eat all our meals at the Point. Red Frog could have been much more helpful with our arrival though. Bertha Calvo emailed me that we should take Taxi 25 from Alimarante to Bocas Town and then call her upon our arrival. We arrived in Bocas Town OK and then called all three numbers Bertha had provided. All three were not being manned and said leave a message and they would get back to us. Not exactly a confidence booster. Not sure why she didn’t mention the office on Third street that we could have walked to. Things turned out Ok and we made it to the resort Ok but it would have been nice with a bit more info.

Property was ok , only complain we had I book a one bedroom honeymoon suite which I thought was on the beach .instead we got a 3 bed room villa 15 minutes walk to beach when we questioned they said we were up grated I guess there was nothing left on the beach

En general el hotel està bien solo que es muy grande. Nosotros estabamos en ina vil·la y para moberte tienes que llamaran al 500 y te pasan recoger con camion casi del ejercito donde ellos llevan de todo para la Limpieza la verdad un poco lamentable. Si que es cierto que tienen unos carritos de golf , para desplazar però la mayoria fue en camion . Tammbien se pueden alquilar , però estaba saturada. Tambien tiene dos restaurant es uno de ellos el point en general bien. Ahora bien el Restaurante la Rosa , para clamur de comida le falta algo el servio un poco mejor, mantéles y le sobra la mesa que tienen de oficina. Las instalaciones correctes.

N'en vaut pas le prix du tout
Nous avions réserver une villa 2 chambres. À notre arrivée, la reception de trouvait pas notre réservation et ne semblait pas s'en préoccuper du tout. Le staff étaient super lent et nonchalant (comme tout au long de notre séjour d'ailleurs). Après un bon 40 mins, ils nous font signer les décharges et les photocopies de nos documents. Nous n'avons reçu aucun cocktail d'accueil (ou d'attente) ni aucun accommodement. Nous décidons alors de d'allez au restaurant de la plage en attendant. Nous devons alors louer un golf cart (parce qu'apparemment même lorsqu'on loue une villa à 2400$ pour 3 nuits ce n'est pas compris) En fin d'après midi, on vient nous porter les clefs sur la plage. La villa n'est pas celle que nous avions réservé, elle a d'ailleurs 3 chambres? En bref, Négatif: IL N'Y A AUCUN COFFRE FORT DANS LA VILLA, il faut tout laisser à la réception Le wifi ne marche pas ou à peine dans la ville (oubliez Netflix) Les portes patios sont super cheap Aucune serviette à main dans la salle de bain d'en haut (jamais) Aucun couteau décent La vaisselle est dépareillé et très de base Le balcon en bois a besoin d'amour et de rénovation Aucune prises à coté du lit ni nul part dans la chambre des maitres. Staff désagréable Ménage mal fait La villa en général n'est vraiment pas moderne, les salles de bain et les chambres sont sombres. Positif: Le resto sur la plage La plage Le zipline
