Lavender Hill is a casual and comfortable, farmhouse-style property. Located in a secluded valley, with lovely views of the Kangaroo Valley escarpments, it’s the perfect getaway to experience the peace and tranquillity (and kangaroos!) of the valley. The house is just a 15- minute drive to the village through beautiful dairy farms but is also well equipped to bunker down and enjoy the privacy with plenty of open space to explore, an indoor and outdoor fire place, well-equipped kitchen, veranda and games room.

Sleeping 8 guests across 4 bedrooms, and located in a rural setting, Lavender Hill is a genuine Kangaroo Valley experience.

Where will I be?

Lavender Hill is a 15 minute drive from the Kangaroo Valley Village. FItzroy Falls is also a short drive, and it is 30 minutes to many of the other towns and villages you will find in the Southern Highlands.

Why choose Lavender Hill?

Furnished comfortably, Lavender Hill is a great year-round destination. Spend evenings beside the outdoor fireplace, or keep cosy indoors with the log burner. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare a meal, but your close proximity to Kangaroo Valley village means dining out is a convenient option too. The games room and excellent WiFi will keep kids and adults entertained, as will the local wildlife-spotting and the creek - accessible by a 100m walk from the house.

How is the property laid out?

Lavender Hill is a single storey home. There is a spacious kitchen, complete with a 90cm oven, a large dishwasher and a Nespresso Citiz coffee pod machine. There are 4 bedrooms. The master has a king bed, TV and an ensuite with a shower and toilet, 2 bedrooms have queen beds and one has a set of bunks. The shared bathroom has a combined bath and shower, and a separate toilet. The living area has plenty of seating, a log burner and smart TV. The Games Room has a ping pong table, dart board, sofa and another smart TV.

WiFi, Internet, Netflix, or Pay TV - will I have it?

Complimentary WiFi is available and a password will be provided in your pre-arrival email. The WiFi is provided through Starlink and is unlimited and high-speed. All TVs are smart tvs so guests can stream their preferred streaming services.

Please note that neither The Holidays Collection nor the owner can guarantee 100% that WiFi will work, and no compensation will be payable if problematic. If WiFi is important, please therefore always have a back up plan.

What about outdoors?

With around 1.5 acres of cleared land, there is a large, enclosed rear yard (perfect for a game of cricket) with an undercover dining and lounge area with a fireplace - the perfect place to spend an evening with family and friends! To the front, there is further grassed area overlooking a dam usually inhabited by a family of ducks. There is also a few acres of bush to explore, should the mood take you! You’ll hear the sounds of the nearby creek (accessible via the rear gate, and through a right-of-access, unfenced paddock) and may even get a visit from some of the local wildlife.

Staying warm or keeping cool?

There is reverse cycle air conditioning in the living room, as well as a log burner for those cold winter nights. There are portable fans and electric heaters in all of the bedrooms.

What about sheets, towels and other supplies?

Lavender Hill supplies all bed linen, sheets and bath towels.

Parking for cars, etc?

Lavender Hill has open air parking for 4 cars.

What are the minimum stay rules?

- Summer Season: Between 2 and 7 nights, depending on the property
- Easter: 4 nights
- Long Weekends: 3 nights

Please note that during Summer Season, our properties may have designated changeover days so as to make the cleaning rosters manageable. We also do not schedule arrivals on the Christmas, Boxing, and New Years Day public holidays.

What a spectacular location!

A wonderful winter weekend escape with friends! Very family friendly home and a truly beautiful area. To our delight phone reception was limited, but the lightning fast wifi would make up for that if you need to stay connected to the outside world. House was well looked after - stocked, clean and tidy. Great supply of heating with wood fires, air con and heaters in every room. A short drive to the centre of Kangaroo Valley and plenty to do with young children. Our two girls (2.5 and 3.5 years old) loved exploring: playing in the creek, running about the yards and watching the kangaroos bounce through the paddocks. The toys in the house kept us all entertained, both adults and children. We’d love to come back! Thanks for hosting us! Great communication from the host and offered flexibility with dates when our plans almost had to change.

Perfect getaway

Great location. Layout of the property was perfect. Kitchen dining room and out door area flowed perfectly. Loved the outdoor fire - it was raining so it was perfect under cover. In a great location - wedding we were attending was 5 minutes down the road 😀

No hairdryers

According to online information on this property, there is a hair dryer inside, we looked everywhere to look but no hair dryer and we contracted agent and they said no hair dryer in the property and we said why says in the internet otherwise we bright it from home since then no reply from agent. That's the only problem we had, but we had a great time. Thank you.

Good stay for a weekend away

4 adults (1 couple and 2 single) spent a weekend at the property to play board games. The house was in a picturesque location, the fireplace was great and the air conditioner very powerful to keep us all warm. Unfortunately the dining table chairs where we planned to spend most of our time were hugely uncomfortable plastic affairs so we had to improvise a little. The lightning over the dining table was very dim (great for atmosphere not so great for reading or gaming) so again we improvised with lamps and phone lights. The kitchen was large however was lacking any kind of paper towel and only 2 tea towels which made cleaning up very difficult. Luckily the dishwasher is very good and we used it for all our washing up. The house itself is cosy which works for 4 adults. If you had 3 couples and potentially children I imagine it would be on the small side. There is a large outdoor area at the back to BBQ and spend some time however we did not make use of it as leaving the doors open past dusk resulted in swarms of bugs joining us for dinner. We did make good use of the bug spray provided! The local shops were a delight and we enjoyed the area and our stay.

Was everything we expected. A little slice of peaceful seclusion. Quiet remote. Close enough to the village but remote enough to escape. The fire. The walk to the creek the access to entertainment if we needed it. Great. There were a few issues with the cleaning when we arrived but this was minor.
