Welcoming stay in the center of Barbizon
The small apartment on the first floor is a quiet and cozy place with everything we needed for our stay in Barbizon. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well staffed and the bathroom is clean and has a nice shower. We did not miss a thing. The hosts are very welcoming and showed us around and even invited us to a Finissage in the galerie they run. You cannot stay more central in Barbizon, an excellent Boulangerie is just couples of minutes away by foot and so are a lot of good restaurants. We'd definitely come back for our next stay in the area. Thank you for having us.

We had a great stay, everything was uncomplicated. We especially enjoyed having a place to sit outside in the yard. Light sleepers might have trouble with noise of the Barbizon main road reaching the appartment early in the morning. Thank u very much!

Idyllic place in a beautiful village
We spent a week in Barbizon. Of course, bouldering was on the agenda (not for me, I hike, but for the other family members), and some days of work in Paris. Barbizon is downright a bit too idyllic, but I won't complain of course. It can easily be reached via train from Paris (to Melun( then take a bus (if you don't want to use a car). Very nice shops that provide all that's necessary (no need to somewhere else to shop): Butcher, baker, groceries super friendly and always singing store operator), cheese, coffee place , superb ice-cream!!!... The forest starts right at the end of the village, max. 5 min. walk. There's a cool bike shop in the village as well, where you can rent quality bikes (reserve online ahead of time). One of the key boulder places is close by, gorges d'apremont. Because there are so many choices to boulder, good to have a book with you. The hosts of the apartment are very friendly, they awaited us outside though we were a bit late, and gave us valuable tips. They live across the yard, so any need can be communicated easily. One bedroom has a double bed, which is super comfy, the other has 2 individual beds. The apartment is on the first floor, below is a place with a waching machine and dryer, very practical. Kitchen and living room are seperated, which is nice. Kitchen has a table with chairs and a bench that easily fits 4, a new and functioning induction stove, and all other things one might like to have in a kitchen. Prior guests leave food items behind, which is practical, cause you don't start from zero (especially when arriving late), olive oil, coffee, spices, some tea, salt and such useful items were there. Bathroom is big and practical. Heaters work great and fast if you need to warm up after a day outside, very much appreciated. Afternoon sun warms up the kitchen, you can sit on the stairway, read, relax or work. Super plus point: Fast and reliable internet! Which explains why there isn't a TV (which I liked). You can easily stream. Suggestion: One or 2 additional lights (like a floor lamp for reading) would make the living room even more cozy. In summation: I slept well, ate well, relaxed, did sports and hiked, in a beautiful environment with respectful and friendly people around. Not much more one can ask for. Thanx Marie-Ange

Wir waren 4 Tage zu Bouldern in Barbizon und haben alles sehr genossen. Die Vermieter sind superfreundlich. Das Appartment groß und voll eingerichtet. Warm und gemütlich. Zum Einkaufen in der schönen malerischen Künstlerstrasse alles vorhanden. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder. Vielen Dank

Beautiful village!
We had a super nice stay at the apartment with the sweetest hosts! :) The village is super beautiful and there is a huge Boulder area nearby, we walked there. All the other areas are max 30 min away. Parking is okay in the street, we always parked only a few meters away (have to say it was during COVID - I guess it is more crowded normally). The flat has a new kitchen which was super nice for us, because we wanted to cook for ourselves. The Bakery is only 2 minutes by foot and we always had the best baguette, bread or sweet baked goods. I would definitely come back again or recommend!

Wunderschöne Ferienwohnung
Die Ferienwohnung liegt zentral im urigen Örtchen Barbizon. Eine Bäckerei, einen kleinen Supermarkt, eine Käserei, eine Metzgerei und diverse Restaurants liegen nur wenige Lauf-Minuten die Straße entlang. Die Vermieter sprechen hervorragend englisch und sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auch ungewöhnliche An- und Abreisezeiten waren kein Problem. In Laufreichweite befindet sich das große Boulder-Gebiet Apremont, die anderen beliebten Spots erreicht man mit dem Auto in 10 bis 45 Minuten.

Sehr angenehme Unterkunft
Die Wohnung ist zentral gelegen im relativ kleinen Dorf Barbizon. Aber es liegt wunderbar in der nähe eines wunderschönen Waldes. Zudem ist dies die Heimstädte für viele Künstler und Galerien. Die Restaurants sind etwas überteuert, selbst im Verhältnis zu Pariser Restaurants. Der Ort eignet sich prima, um von hier die Gegend zu erkunden. Nach Paris muss man ca. 45 Minuten einplanen. Nach Versailles ca. 1h und zum Disneyland ebenfalls 1h. Das schöne Schloss Fontainbeau ist kurze 20 Minuten weit weg. Schön ist ebenfalls, dass es keinen Fernseher gibt, so kann man auch mal etwas Abstand gewinnen. Das WLAN funktioniert allerdings einwandfrei. Das Parken ist etwas schwieriger, da man auf der Hauptstraße parken muss und es tagsüber immer voll ist, bekommt man da etwas Schwierigkeiten. nach 9 Uhr abends ist es aber wiederum kein Problem.

Highly recommendable!
Well equipped and cosy flat! We came for 10 days bouldering and found everything we needed. The flat is well located to many sectors and also a big supermarket is quite near -although things of daily use (as bread, fruits, vegetables and water...) are available across the street. The flat fits very well for 2-4 persons. A 5th person might find place in the livingroom. The hosts live across the yard and are very friendly and yet discreet. We had a wonderfull time and might come back next year :)

Summer holiday in Barbizon
Great apartment that is much bigger than the listing/photos suggest. It is really well located in the middle of the village close to the restaurants and just a few minutes walk to the forest with bouldering sites very close. Barbizon is close to Fontainebleau, other forest villages and easy access to Paris by train. The owners Marie-Ange and Jacques are very helpful and it was a pleasure to meet them. Boulder/climbing family vacation
A very nice and charming appartment in the middle of the fantastic village of Barbizon. The appartment is relatively small but the space is well utilized and you have everything you need there. The location is nice in the middle of Barbuzon, some traffic but not disturbing. Close to sevwral restaurants, bakery, a small shop and pharmacy. Further, the beautiful forrest of Fontainebleau is within walking diatance. The host is very friendly, helpfull and speaks good wnglish. Recomended!

Spacious and well-equipped gîte
This rental was perfect for our monthlong stay in Barbizon. Right in the middle of main street through town, close to the market, bakery, cheese shop, butcher, cafes, restaurants, bakery-- basically, everywhere you'd need to go. The forest is at the end of the street-- perfect location for climbers -- and there's even a vegetarian cafe a few doors down that rents crash pads! The apartment is even more spacious and charming than it looks in the pictures. It's easy to get to Fontainebleau by bus, though reserving a taxi to get to Paris can be tricky. Fortunately for us, Mme. and M. Chabert were very helpful hosts, not only finding us an Uber driver but even calling him for us to make sure there was no miscommunication! We'd definitely rent with them next time we come to climb!
