Madampe house is situated just outside Ambalangoda with a frontage onto Madampe lake. Ambalangoda is renowned for the intricaltely carved masks and is also the best place in Sri Lanka for antiques. We are midway between Bentota and Galle - about 30 minutes from both by car or slightly less by rail. The vibrant resort of hikkaduwa is about 10 minutes away by tuk tuk.

This area is perfect for nature lovers - an amazing variety of bird life and a vast array of fish and shellfish are on sale by fishermen at roadside stalls . One a week there is a large market at nearby parrot junction with an array of top quality fruit and veg. that defies description.
