The Space:
D&L Cottage by Tiny Away is nestled in the semi-rural suburb of Kudla, just 40 minutes from Adelaide. Surrounded by open space, this charming retreat invites visits from local birds and wildlife, creating a serene backdrop for your stay. We offer a countryside lifestyle perfect for those looking to unwind, slow down, and recharge, while having the benefit of local amenities within arm’s reach.
Just a few nearby attractions include Virgara Wines Cellar Door with the well-known Sneakys restaurant conveniently located next door, Gawler River Brewing, Gawler township, and the Gawler Racecourse. The Barossa Valley boasts over 150 wineries, with the historic town of Tanunda just a 25-minute drive from your location.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with mains water, split air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchenette with a single-burner cooker top, toaster, Espresso coffee pod machine, and microwave. The bathroom comprises a full-size, gas-heated shower, with a hand basin and soft white towels provided for your stay. A perfect choice for a cute yet simple, relaxing holiday home for two.
We have added an option to pre-purchase breakfast items or a local bottle of red or white wine, which will be available in the home upon your arrival. It is our intention to keep things simple and stress-free, just like your stay.
Guest Access:
Guests can access the tiny home and its surroundings, except for the main residence and private garden area.
ADVISORY:
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property.
- Clear signage will guide you to the tiny home, and a secure key box along with a gate access code will be provided on the morning of your stay—ensuring a smooth check-in.
Preorders are available with 24 hrs' prior notice:
- Breakfast is $25 for two.
- Virgara wine is $25 per bottle.
- Firewood for the firepit is complimentary. Additional firewood is $20.
The Neighborhood:
D&L Cottage by Tiny Away is nestled just off the beaten track, in Kudla. The Kudla Railway Station will take you around 15 minutes to walk to. This is served by the main Gawler to Adelaide line. Leave the car behind and forget about trying to park in the city. Alternatively, drive the two minutes and park up at the station for an easy commute into Adelaide.
Our Retreat stay invites you to explore the local area and attractions. If you're looking to explore parks and nature, enjoy scenic walking trails at Clonlea Park, the historic paths of Deadman’s Pass, the unique acoustic wonder of the Whispering Wall, and the Gorge Wildlife Park—home to native animals including kangaroos, koalas, and more. The Botanic Gardens in Adelaide are a must for the nature lover.
Munno Para Shopping Centre is a 10-minute drive, with larger retailers such as Foodland, Coles, and K-Mart. The centre has a food court and numerous eateries, including Kimura Sushi, St Louis Dessert Bar, Café Primo, most fast-food chains, and many more.

Getting Around:
By car:
- To Adelaide CBD from the tiny home is a 35min drive
- To Angle Vale which is the nearest town is a 5-minute drive
- To Gawler is a 10-minute drive
- The northern expressway is within 5minutes of the tiny home and this facilitates drives to the CBD and the Barossa Valley.
By public transport:
- Taxi and Uber services are available to collect you from the tiny home if you so wish.
Other Things to Note:
- Free potable water
- All mobile networks have good signals
- No children please, for safety reasons
- No unregistered guests or visitors are permitted
- The tiny home is a non-smoking space.
- A Gas BBQ grill with two burners is available for your use.
- Firewood for the firepit is complimentary. Additional firewood can be purchased for a fee of $20.
- We have a friendly resident cat who lives on the property. He’s quite independent and usually keeps to himself.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- Outdoor fire pit is not available during a total fire ban day or during the Fire Danger Season. (1st November – 30th April)
- We would like to advise guests that stays longer than 5 days will be charged an additional minimum cleaning fee to ensure the cleanliness and functionality of the cassette toilet. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
