Nice hotel hospitable staff

GNU inn stay

Family room was double and 2 single- however note on door that if booked as a double can only use double or singles and not both as may be charged? I had booked it for 2 people as only room available but didn’t know what to do so both slept in double bed. Noisy water pipes but old building. For £60 was ideal.

Very accommodating hosts but rooms need attention

Gut: Location, food
Nicht so gut: Bigger TV in room and more amenities (towel bars, better lighting)
Lage: 40 minutes from York, a beautiful local church
We went to North Newbald to investigate family history. We had booked a twin room but the shower didn't work so we were put into the family room with a king bed. The shower still had little pressure but at least it worked. The bathroom and bedroom could use some updating and some additional amenities (nails in the wall to hang your towel?) but it was quiet and in a small quaint village. The breakfast, served in the pub, was very good. And the hosts went out of their way to suggest how best to navigate the area and what to see in nearby York. And the owner even did some laundry for us! (above and beyond the call of duty!)

Hotel in a very pretty village on The Wolds Way
Veröffentlicht am 02.07.2017First of all I got a fantastic welcome from Lee and Carol who are very chatty and a really nice couple who couldn't do enough to make you feel at home.
Their daughter was the chef and the food was excellent, generous portions and to be honest I thought was underpriced for what you got.
I'd thoroughly recommend this hotel to any walkers doing the Way in fact it'd be the first place to book to make sure you get in!
Hope to return again 1 day. Keep up the good work, enjoyed it immensely.

Fantastic meals

The cask ale was very enjoyable but the location of the room was very close to the outside smoking area that became very noisy late at night. The location of the pub was ideal for visiting Beverley.

bed not comfy. Kitchen closed . owners are quite new to being a pub landlord but are trying. bathroom ok. not good value.
