„The plus side: Nice clean cottage, welcome basket with fresh bread, haribo sweets, wine. Flowers on table, tea, coffee, sugar and even treats for the dog. Sky/netflix. Bed very comfy. Nice white towels. Good communication from owner. 2 local pubs- the Nelson ...no food gd beer. Rising sun, pub grub. Both friendly pubs. negative side: Right on a very busy,noisy road. We could not work out why so many lorries etc cut through there. We did sort of get used to the noise except early ...

„Good central location for Matlock (not up a hill). Park very close for dog walking. Very comfortable bed and spacious bathroom. Car parking a bit tight as mentioned but ok for a average car - the drive in is easy, backing out slow but no real problem. Very nice stay esp. the easy short walk to all central pubs and shops, after a day walking in the surrounding hills.“

„sehr sauber, wunderschön eingerichtet, sehr gut ausgestattete Küche, tolle Betten, netter und unkomplizierter Kontakt mit dem Vermieter; "ein Ferienhaus zum Wohlfühlen". Zu empfehlen: Besichtigung von "Haddon hall" -lohnt sich. Einziger "Nachteil": liegt direkt an der Strasse und man hört natürlich dann die Autos; hat uns nicht gestört; aber absolute Stille gibt es dann natürlich nicht.“

„Loved the way the property has been restored, many small touches of genius and imagination, and no expense spared with equipment and furnishings, very good central heating and wood-burning fire. Sense of welcome. Very comfortable bathroom, efficient shower, and comfortable main bedroom (did not try other 2 bedrooms). Only slight complaint was need to clean electric oven shelves and oven, which gave off a lot of smell.“

„A lovely little ex-mill-workers cottage. The owners have extensively researched the history which makes interesting reading. Some "essential" supplies were provided, most welcoming. „This was our first visit to the Peak District and we absolutely loved it. Josh's cottage is off the main road and elevated on the side of a hill so the views and surrounding area was beautiful. The rooms and accommodation we as advertised if not better. The two bedrooms upstairs are very spacious. The bedroom downstairs is slightly smaller but with an en-suite bathroom. What a lovely cottage - we will definitely be back!“

„The cottage is small, but perfectly equipped with everything you could possibly need. It is a great starting point for various trips to the surrounding area. We had a great time and would recommend it to everyone! Just one thing: the last few yards to the cottage are on a rather steep hill (hence "Hillside") and it can be a bit tricky to park your car there. You'll need to ascend the last few yards up to the cottage, but if you're reasonably fit, it shouldn't be a problem.“
