„What a venue! I'd always heard about Close House as a great location for golf, but never really thought of it as a place to stay. Its small enough to be personal and intimate. Not a huge venue that can feel overwhelming. Credit to all the staff, polite, welcoming, and always served with a smile.“

„Fabulous place I only stayed here because of a Bruce Springsteen concert in Sunderland so all the Hotels in Newcastle were full. Well worth a visit. Only downside was the size of my fish at dinner. Can only be described as a child’s portion but they brought another half without any complaint. “

„Both of our hosts made us very welcome and put themselves out to check on evening activities in sorrounding areas for my 11 year old granddaughter. The ensuite family room was beautiful with coffee .tea and bottled water and biscuits. Breakfast also excellent choices.. Will stay again.“

„Kein wifi im zimmer weil die Wände zu dick seien(geht heite gar micht mehr), wundere mich warum ich dann im Nachbarzimmer jedes einzelne wort verstehe und die ganze nacht vom schnarchen wach gehalten werfen. Die matratzen waren eine zumutung. Personal nicht an fredback interessiert. Keine Empfehlung. “

„The pink room is spacious and very well furnished. Everything was provided. There was even a view towards Bamburgh Castle which was a bonus. We were very impressed with the whole of the property. The owners were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was of an excellent standard. We will definately be reurning for a longer stay. We would recommend Railston House unreservedly.“
