An enjoyable stay in early May at this well stocked house right on Lake Champlain. Our dog enjoys hiking with us and we found many good places to explore. The canoe was a bonus. Great views. The host was friendly and helpful with recommendations.

Absolute relaxation!
This property was perfect for our couple's getaway, with our pup! The home is beautiful and you can't beat the gorgeous lakeside views! Barb was so helpful with everything and very communicative. She had lots of great suggestions for our visit. The location is a cute, little town that is close to many sights. We had all the comforts of home and were able to decompress! Enjoyed our stay and the beautiful location!
The house and property were just as advertised and the views from both floors were non-stop beautiful. Our dog loved the lapping of the water right at the end of the hill. It would be even more fun in the summer, I'm sure. The ping pong and pool tables in the basement were a lot of fun on a dreary day. Thank you Barb!

Lovely quiet spot
Barb was great in being flexible about our arrival time because of the road conditions slowing us down. She was there waiting for us to extend her welcoming hospitality. We arrived after dark in a snowstorm. It was lovely to wake up in the morning and see the beautiful view first thing. Barb is very attentive to communication and thorough in the information she gives. It was a great quiet place for my husband and I to spend a couple of days celebrating our 36th wedding anniversary. We also enjoyed the game room downstairs for some fun, friendly competition! Of note - there was dog hair in the home (probably from a previous guest), so if you are allergic or have issues with that it wouldn't be the place for you. And if going in the winter, AWD is advisable.

Perfect!
My wife and I loved our time at Barb's house in Vermont! The house was very clean and has literally anything and everything you would need for your time there. My wife and I bring a lot of our own things to use just in case, but we could have left it all behind. The house was incredibly private and secluded, especially when hanging out on the deck outside. Our dogs loved it too! The lake was clean and great for swimming. The only negative thing was the crazy amount of mosquitoes, but it had been a very rainy summer by all accounts. Obviously this isn't anyone's fault, but when the wind was still, sitting outside was tough. The lake frontage is huge and very private and tons of kayaks, canoes, paddles, etc are supplied. Getting in and out of the lake was very easy - gentle slope and rocks to walk on. There are some flat rocks on the lake front as well, so its easy to hang out down on the lake with some chairs. The yard has a huge grass area for the dogs to run around, and its very nice that its separated from the water so after you've cleaned and dried the dogs off for the day, its easy to keep them away from the water and dry for the rest of the night. We have rented many similar places on lakes over the years, and this by far was the best! We have never liked a place enough to return and have continued looking for that great place, and we finally found it at Barbs beautiful house on the lake in Vermont! See you next year!

Absolutely beautiful place. Coffee on the balcony, listening to the waves. Check in was late but Barb and the property made up for it. We had a great time playing pool and air hockey the 1st night and just exploring and relaxing the second day. Super dog friendly and that guy thoroughly enjoyed the lake and huge yard! Pretty decent food down by the marina!

STUNNING Lake House with Magnificent Views!
You will not find ANYTHING better than this wonderful home away from home lake house which is located in the perfect spot! We were blown away by the majestic views of the lake and mountains which can be seen practically from every window. We thoroughly enjoyed the gourmet high end Kitchen along with the gleaming hardwood and tile floors. This home is equipped with just about everything you need. There are too many amenities to mention them all. Beautifully well maintained property. We spent most of our time on the 2nd floor deck (just off the master bedroom) taking in the glorious views and just enjoying the property. We can not say enough about how amazing the host is. Barb is sweet, kind and genuine, the kind of person you wish you had for a friend. We will definitely be returning and we highly recommend this spot! It is a peaceful retreat that will revitalize any soul.

A great place to unplug and unwind
The house is super clean, well stocked with essentials and comfortable. The outdoor space is serene with plenty of seating options to take in the magnificent views. There are lawn games and kayaks to keep you entertained throughout the day and a pool table, ping pong, darts and board games to enjoy at night. Wonderful Romantic AND Romantic Hideaway w/Fishing!
This place was a dream come true! The home itself is perfectly comfortable with so many amenities. Our hosts were the most awesome dog people, accommodating our pup so well. The bed was so comfy too! But the best part was the fishing in front of the house! 7lb bass and 20lb channel cats can be easily caught from shore! The number of fish we caught was amazing. We will definitely return!

Is there a better place to be during a surprise record-breaking heatwave than a beautiful house on the lake? Absolutely Gorgeous!
The pictures of the property do not do it justice!! Absolutely gorgeous cabin and the bed and master bath bath were to die for! As well as the view from the upstairs bedroom deck!! All views are stunning and the location remote enough to get away from it all but with enough stores nearby to get what you need. Some are a bit of a jaunt, but given Fall in Vermont, it was not the least bit of a bother! Lots of artsy shops in the towns nearby, historical sites to visit and great restaurants too (highly recommend the Red Mill Restaurant and Porky's [best barbacue I have ever had!]). Barb was gracious, kind and very funny and went out of her way to greet us and review everything with us (even a lesson on bumper pool in their wonderful game room downstairs :) !) . The wildlife we witnessed while there was great too: bald eagles, bats at dusk (not bothersome and quite entertaining!), tons of birds, lots of bunnies and a friendly cat who stopped by each night to greet us. Can't say enough about this wonderful cabin and the kindness of everyone we met in Vermont!! You won't regret going here.

Better Than Expected
We were impressed enough by this listing to plan a visit, so we didn't have low expectations but the place was even better than we had hoped for. The photos in the listing don't quite capture how perfectly the sited the house is so that every part of it has an amazing view, also, the house had lots of perks that never make it into listings, things like good cookware and sharp knives, or stone and real-wood finishes rather than their laminate alternatives. This is a place that was carefully made to be enjoyed and lived in.

Relaxing and restful stay
I had the joy to stay at "The Barbs" place in August 2022. It was an extremely restful and relaxing vacation. A true getaway from the hustle and bustle of life. The house was truly amazing - the kitchen was better equipped than my own kitchen at home. The views from every room in the house were breathtaking. The house came with so many water floats and boats. The hosts were very friendly and extremely helpful - they really went out of their way to make the trip worry-free. My 7-year-old boxer dog (dealing with unexpected blindness) was completely at ease in their house, their amazing yard, and their decks. I would recommend a stay here throughout the entire year - I imagine it would be equally as beautiful in the fall, winter, and spring.

Lovely Retreat
We really enjoyed our time at the property. There were a few minor issues. The lawn wasn't mowed and the path to the water wasn't extremely well-maintained. We also noticed a lot of dust and cobwebs on the doors and windows throughout the house. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves. Barb was extremely kind and helpful. The house was well-stocked with everything we needed, and the amenities are unbeatable. A wonderful place to rest and relax. The listing photos should be updated because they do not do this property justice. It is just beautiful.

Absolute perfection
I cannot say enough how perfect this property is. Photos do not do it justice! Barb is an amazing hostess (even loaned us a dog harness when we discovered we forgot ours!) The views are breath taking the house is beautiful and well stocked. There was pleantly of room in the yard for our pups and to play yard games, access to the water was easy. Major plus was how quiet it was! So peaceful. Walking distance to the general store and Goodies Snack Stand (excellent soft serve ice cream!) 100% recommend, we plan on coming back!

The weather did not cooperate and the path to the lake was a mess due to a large snow storm when we arrived but that’s Vermont weather. Winter Oasis
Barbara greeted us at the door with a smile and a short tour. She was so kind and accommodating and was always a text away! Very good at communicating! When we walked in, we were blown away with the view! Even in winter, it is spectacular. The home itself is beautiful and cozy! The bath tub in the master bathroom faces the windows to the master bedroom deck. So while you’re taking a bath, you get to see that magical view! It started snowing while I was in it which only added to the majestic feeling. The fireplace was so cozy to watch and play games in the living room. The basement offers more games! We loved playing darts. It was home as soon as we walked in. The fort at Crown Pointe was a recommendation of Barbara’s and it did not disappoint! But we almost never left the house because we enjoyed it so much! Falling asleep with the view and waking up to the view are two different ambiance’s but equally beautiful! Can’t say enough good about this home. Absolutely loved our stay. Best way to celebrate our 11th anniversary!! Thank you so much Barbara!! If you’re thinking to come here for a winter trip, just book it.

A piece of heaven!
Barb's place was absolutely incredible. We spent a week in early October and we will definitely be back. The house is peaceful, quiet and the views are breathtaking. We spent a lot of time sitting down by the lake, using the kayaks, and just enjoying the property. The kitchen had everything needed to cook at the house, which we did most days. We were able to visit Burlington and Stowe for the gondola ride which was a beautiful drive, especially in the Fall. Thank you Barbs for an amazing, restful week!

We are annual fall vacationers and look for peace and the best nature stays. This house fits! Just feet from Lake Champlain and it’s natural beauty. This house has excellent vistas such that you feel you are living outside! Barb is an excellent host! She has plenty of resources and suggestions of things to do (but honestly, for us, we go to have time to rest, read and enjoy) in the area. We highly recommend this spot!

Barb was very accommodating showing us all the amenities that came with their home. Beautiful house with amazing lake views
Barbara has provided the basics to allow you to settle right in--TP, coffee, paper towels, full shelf of spices, etc. Location-wise, the property served as a great base to explore the area--Burlington, Middlebury, Vergennes, historic sites, great hikes, dips in waterfalls. Barbara has a notebook full of helpful regional info. The house is perched overlooking the lake with great spots to read and relax. You must walk down stairs and a path to get to the waterfront. The boats are stored at waterside for use. Note that the shoreline and the lake floor are shale. This means YOU MUST wear water shoes or else you will cut your feet and/or slip on the algae covered rock. There are some water shoes (well used) at the house but would strongly rec to bring your own. Do your reading on Lake Champlain--this is not a swimmers lake. Lots of algae growth. If you are coming with a dog, you will need to set up communication with Barbara as to when she lets her dogs out so you know when it is okay to safely walk yours.

We appreciate our guests feedback but the lake is great for swimming and boating and fishing as we are the #1 bass lake in the country . We are very dog friendly for 10+ years and have hosted hundreds of guests and their furry friends. We do coordinate with our guests as there are other dogs in the neighborhood to make sure every dog is fine. We do our best every time.

Heaven on the Lake

Wonderful and relaxing vacation
My wife and I, along with our two dogs, spent a very relaxing week at Barb's lake front property. The property itself is very serene with wonderful views of the lake. The house is very spacious and is situated for maximum enjoyment of the views and breeze coming off the lake. We especially enjoyed morning coffee on the 2nd floor deck off the bedroom and using the fire pit while taking in a sunset. Access to the water was easy and convenient. I should mention that there are lots of sharp/jagged rocks by the water's edge that made us find other locations for our dogs to go swimming as their feet got pretty cut up by the rocks. We didn't let the rocks stop us from enjoying the kayaks though! Barb is a very attentive and friendly host and helped with local recommendations and information. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at Barb's property and would absolutely recommend it for anybody looking for a relaxing getaway!

We very much enjoyed our long weekend at the Lake Champlain lake house! It was quiet and peaceful. The view is spectacular. The house is equipped with everything you need. Barb is a gracious host who makes sure you know everything there is you need to know about the house and the surrounding area. We enjoyed sitting in the Adirondack chairs over looking the lake. You get the view right from the kitchen as well! We enjoyed steaks we grilled that we bought from a local farm while enjoying the view. The bedroom has a balcony with a view as well, perfect to enjoy your morning coffee. There was a nest with young robins (not quite babies anymore) off the balcony, and we got to see them fly off. The game room downstairs was fun as well, we played pool, air hockey and ping pong. Our Golden had a blast swimming, and Barb has towels at the house just for the dogs. Barb is the best host you will find anywhere! She will really make you feel welcome. We look forward to returning again, and next time my husband will bring his guitar Barb!

Wonderful stay!
This house was absolutely wonderful and we greatly enjoyed our stay! Everything was very clean and comfortable. The lake is spectacular with excellent fishing right from the shore. Barb was very welcoming and even left us a goodie basket that was super scrumptious. We already booked our next stay ... can’t wait to come back!
