Our visit to Tulum was for the purpose of attending a wedding of some friends at the Resort. Among the positive points are the welcome when you arrive at the hotel, everything is very organized. They welcome you with a glass of Champagne and staff to guide you about the hotel. The hotel is very large but there is sufficient signage to reach the dining areas during the day and the specialty restaurants. The hotel has fantastic activities every day. It has 2 pools and beach access but the inconvenience is that if you don't get up early, you won't find anywhere to sit either at the pool or the beach. There are 2 open bars almost all day near the pools. The cleanliness and maintenance of the areas are very good. Negatives: When you arrive at the hotel, besides offering you champagne, someone quickly approaches you to offer you discounts in exchange for a 90-minute hotel tour and you have to waste time listening to them to tell them you don't want it. The discounts are useless because the prices of the services are so exorbitantly high that going to the Spa can cost you $600.00 and the discount is $150.00, just to give an example. The drinks at the bars are terrible, we ordered piña coladas and mojitos, and we couldn't drink them, they are watery and poorly prepared. We opted to order beer and whiskey on the rocks, as we were playing it safe. The food in the places where you could have breakfast and lunch during the day left much to be desired, although there was a lot of variety.
