Our initial room had a terrible odor. Called for housekeeping, no one came. Went to front desk and was then told no housekeeping available that night (Saturday). All rooms were booked and could not change room. I asked for some type of air freshener and it took time to find. Freshener worked for a hour or so, but odor returned and was difficult to sleep through the night. Hotel manager upgraded us to a suite the next morning when it became available. We greatly appreciate the attention it was given and the manager should be commended.

The hotel was charmingly old-fashioned without being dated, my room was enormous, staff were very helpful. Niggles, the bar closes at 10pm and the food offering is basically non-existent, but there are plenty of other options nearby.

We had a court yard room and there was wedding and we were not informed at check in or offered another room and it was super loud and not ok. The floor above was very loud and you could hear everything.

The historic charm, walkable neighborhood, and friendly service were wonderful. However, I was not a fan of the daily fee for WiFi and the business center as due to the low security, I was not able to use the service during my four day stay.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable. Had patio but only big enough to stand on, too small for a chair. Valet parking was very convenient but also a very pricey extra charge ($59 tax tips per night). Walking distance to gaslamp, seaport village and Petco Park.

Having a patio, even if it's small, can still be a nice touch for some fresh air. But I understand how it might have been disappointing if it wasn't quite big enough to fully enjoy.Valet parking can indeed be convenient, especially in busy areas like Gaslamp, Seaport Village, and near Petco Park.

This was my first time staying here. It is such a pretty hotel. The rooms have fireplaces, beautiful courtyard and a great bar. Walking distance to all the shops, Petco park, restaurants and gas lamp. The only thing that Expedia doesn’t share are the extra fees you have to pay when you get there. Tourist fee, amenities fee and totaled to an extra $65 after the regular tax and room fees.

We stayed 1 night for and loved the uniqueness of the hotel. Staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again. Valet parking is expensive so we reserved parking at a garage just a couple blocks away. We didn’t need our car while down there since it’s close to everything we planned to do.
