Nice beach, beachbar, big rooms, great staff
We‘ve been allowed to stay the whole departure day in an unused room which was amazing service. They’ve now also installed Zenbu WiFi hotspot at the beach. (Bluesky WiFi reachable at the reception area too) Pool could use some fresh paint though ;)

Das Hote ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen, dafür aber ziemlich preiswert. An der Strandbar gibt es Live Musik und jeden Tag verschiedene Themen für das Essen (Pizza, Curry, BBQ....).

Entspannen am Meer
Wunderbare Aufenthalt. Michelle und Paul sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Zimmer einfach aber bequem, schoene Bar am Strand und Essen auch gut. Wer unglaublich schoene Sonnenuntergang erleben will, ist hier glücklich.

Sehr freundlich!!
Paul und Michelle sind sehr, sehr gastfreundlich. Wir haben uns sehr willkommen gefühlt und noch kaum so liebe Leute in der Hotelleitung getroffen wie hier. Die Stimmung im Resort ist entspannt und für das leibliche Wohl sorgt abends die gute Küche. Mit dem Bus sind es ca. 20 min. zur schönen Muri Beach (Stundentakt). Die Beach vor dem Resort ist hübsch, bietet aber wenig Möglichkeiten zum Baden (es wurde uns gesagt, dass das Wasser bald von den Korallenblöcken gesäubert würde). Zu Fuss gelangt man in ca. 20 min. in südlicher Richtung zu einem schönen Strandabschnitt, der wenige Wünsche offen lässt. Vorteil: Zum Städtchen ist es bedeutend weniger weit als von der Muri Beach. Eine günstige Auto-/ Rollervermietung liegt ca. 10 Gehminuten vom Resort entfernt. Wer keinen grossen Luxus braucht aber auf saubere Zimmer wert legt, sich gerne auch selbst versorgt und eine kleine Distanz zu guten Badestränden auf sich nimmt, liegt hier genau richtig! Das Frühstücksbuffet ist nicht riesig die Fruchtauswahl ist aber frisch und lecker! Vor Ort buchen (oder direkt via mail) kann sich in der Nebensaison lohnen, da günstigere Zimmerpreise als im Internet.

Zweckmaessige Unterkunft
Insgesamt nicht schlecht, aber auch nicht herausragend. Der Buchtbereich ist voller Korallenfelsen und schoen zum Schnorcheln, aber schlecht zum Planschen. Insgesamt war in dieser Ecke der Insel sehr wenig los. Die Nachtruhe wurde leider bei 2 unserer 4 Naechte durch naechtliche Renovierungsarbeiten (Malerarbeiten) in dem Appartement ueber uns sehr gestoert, ohne dass uns ein Ausweichquartier angeboten wurde. Das Fruehstueck ist zwar kostenlos, aber auch sehr einfach und ausser Obst, Cornflakes und Toast mit Marmelade kaum mehr. Die Inhaberin Michelle ist sehr freundlich und bekuemmert und wir durften am Abreisetag sogar bis spaetabends noch unser Zimmer kostenlos weiternutzen, da wir gegen Mitternacht abflogen. Der Transfer kostet 19 NZD pro Person und pro Strecke, also fuer uns beide gesamt 76 NZD. Wuerde das naechste Mal was drauflegen und ins Rarotongan oder an den Muri Beach gehen.

Super friendly and helpful staff, special thanks to Varni and Minnie. Great vibe in Wilson's bar and restaurant from happy hour and on into dinner. Cocktails were nice too. Lots of food options and different theme each night. We thoroughly enjoyed Sunday night with the entrainment.

Wonderful staff, very quiet during the daytime but in the evening, the restaurant fills up with guests from all over the island which we thought was very fun! The food is delicious. If you want daytime activity, you will need to go elsewhere but if you want peace and a private beach, this place is perfect!

Laid back perfection
A truly superb resort with wonderful staff, a great location and a laid-back vibe! We couldn’t have picked better snd it was much better value than some of the big resorts. The rooms were great and had everything we wanted - you could cook a three course meal if you really needed - there was a great breakfast included and an excellent restaurant. The bar and the beach were great for lazing! Advice from the front desk was spot on - big thumbs up to Anita! And because we had some damage left from a previous guest owner Paul was on it in a flash! We would happily go back any time!

At this time of the year totally perfect for rest and relaxation. The best room with balcony overlooking the trees and watch the waves roll in. Afternoons in the water and then out in time for Happy Hour! Food and cocktails outstanding and the gem of this place is the staff they are the 'icing on the cake' so to speak. We will definitely return and next time for longer.

I travelled with the whole fam (4x adults) We had a late flight so we arrived in the property almost midnight. We checked-in in our room (2bedroom suites) with no issues at all as prior instructions was given clearly ahead of time. Everyone’s first impression was “Wow!” Our room was so spacious and most of all clean and comfortable. We would have given it 5 stars, however, 1 room had no A/C that everyone has to sleep in one room (luckily the bed is big enough for 4 of us). Otherwise, it felt like a home away from home. Kudos to the staff for excellent service.

Very decent sized rooms, excellent sized full fridge to fit in all your food and beverages in our poolside studio room. We had good privacy on our balcony area from the pool with the plant foliage between us. Complimentary breakfast was awesome with fresh fruits, toast with toppings fresh juice water tea coffee etc. And the hot breakfast options off the menu was very nice and generous sizing. The beach had a small lovely sandy area to bathe which we really enjoyed if you want to vege out in the water. (Would be cramped if 5 or more people in the area). Great central location to town and the lovely southern beaches around the Rarotongan resort and Titikavika beaches. Staff at the resort super friendly. Would happily stay there again.

We loved the privacy. We loved that there was a restaurant and bar right on the beachfront - the food was delicious. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and welcoming. We loved the easy access to the beach and being able to walk from our room down to the beach to swim. The foot bowl and extra floor towels for cleaning sandy feet were great too. We would definitely choose to stay here again!

The staff were amazing. The property is run down most of the umbrellas have holes in them, and the deck chairs have been mended a lot but are still broken. I got locked in my room because I shut an interior door overnight not realising the lock on my side of the door did not work. I could not get out. I rang reception but it was not manned at the weekend. I then tried to ring the other number on the phone but that was also not picked up. I watched out the window, caught someone walking by attention, and asked them to find someone to let me out. I put something against the door so I did not accidentally shut it again and get locked in. This door was not fixed before I left. A man did try and fix it but the lock did not fit the door. The staff in the restaurant were amazing and professional. The food was great. It was just a shame about the property maintenance.

We stayed in the beach house and it was perfect for us. Right next door to the bar/restaurant and still so private. Food and drinks were the best we tasted on the island. Staff were all lovely. We had the beach to ourselves most of the time, it was beautiful.

We stayed in the Beach House, which was slightly separate to the other area. Still had access to the pool though. Was a great setup for a group. Staff were so friendly and we would stay here again!

Fantastic beachfront location, and with great staff and service, nothing was a problem, always helpful, friendly and informative. This boutique resort is family-run, laid back but extremely professional and they definitely know how to give their guests the best experience. Rooms all so close to the beach, super-clean and well-stocked and room service did a wonderful job each day. Fab cocktails and great choice of food to suit everyone. The chance to have your breakfast/lunch/dinner on the beach, swim, see whales, hang out with the wandering doggies, watch the sunset with a cocktail etc was priceless. Well done and thank you to the Castaway team, we'll be back for sure.

We stayed here for 10 days and the amenities is all you need for a holiday given if you want to explore the island most of the time.We were able to easily cook too as we anted to try the local produce outside of a restaurant! Staff are super amazing, always accommodating and keep the entire resort tidy (bedrooms were always serviced to perfection). Michelle and Paul are amazing owners/hosts and super personable as are their staff; Anita and all the staff (Apo, Trina, Joyce, Pearl, Romel, Grace and the chefs) know the best for local cuisine and activities and beaches etc, so don't be shy to ask! Locals always know best 😁 😍 Food is outstanding, fresh and delicious, and the cocktails are pretty amazing too - best ambience too for a chill evening/night! Thank you all for being amazing, we will definitely be back when visiting Rarotonga again 🤗
