Hello. Thank you for your feed back, we value everything you had to say. We will make an adjustment to the germ killing spray you are referring to. We use various cleaning products some do not smell as nice as others, but rest assure we are doing it to kill germs as we aim to be a sterile hotel. We do not advertise having TV’s at this hotel, however, we did upgrade the internet system and placed many routers in the hallway to increase upload and download speed so all can stream movies. We also have added several Roku tv’s to a few Suites as a trial run. We will look into the AC unit and chair. Thanks again and hope you will return again soon. Sincerely, the Clegg family.

We did speak directly and thought you understood that the mistake was not the hotel fault but our own oversight. I even took the time to show you online Hotel.com website which is were you made your reservation. It clearly states Shared Bathroom above every room picture. Then you follow up after our conversation with a neative review. Your review is misleading, false, extremely unfair and unjust. We make no secret that the Clegg's Hotel is located in the center of town in Ocean Beach Fire Island. We have been in the same place for 75 Years. This is not an area we control and unfair to think we can. Although we did make an effort did speak with local authorities to enforce the bars to close there doors. And to be fair to them it was only 9:45pm on a Friday night. We also discussed that you were surprised the Guest Room you booked online did not have a private bathroom, but a shared bathroom in the hallway. Hotels.com & Expedia.com lists above every photograph that the Guest Rooms have a shared bathroom in bold letter. It is not the fault of the Clegg's Hotel that you overlooked reading and viewing your self made reservation. For future reference we do have Suites with private bathroom that have been recent gutted and are brand new with correra Italian tiles with walk-in showers as well as brand new Kohler prodects to match. Perhaps you can rethink your review. Thanks again for reserving with us, hope you give us another chance. A Suite is recemmended for you.

One of the core principles of Clegg's Hotel is to not have TV's in the room, we feel this keeps up with the laid back and simple approach the island has to offer. Although for those who do, we just made major improvement by installing a brand new wifi system throughout the building. Guests can now stream several devices at the same time. We understand that you where upset that we removed the contenental breakfast due to Covid-19. We advertise on the Cleggs Hotel website with a header in bright lime green, "For your safety and ours we are becoming a touchless hotel by removing the continental breakfast. We hope you understand, the less we all touch the safer we will all be." We apologized for the misunderstanding directly to you in person but to wake up on a Wednesday morning two weeks after you Checked Out to submit the review you did is disgusting and as low as it gets! You said "how are we supposed to live". Breathe, we will all get thru this together, but to vent on us thru a review when you are mistaken is disgraceful & Misleading. Read what you agree to rent and you should be a happer person.

We wish we were given the oppertunity to speak by phone to have a better understanding of the type of room that would fit you best. Now knowing, a Suite with private bathroom facing the bay, away from the main street in town would have been a better suited accommodation. We hope you will return again and reserve a Suite. We are sorry we did not meet your expectations. Clegg's Hotel/Expedia sent you 5 emails confirming your stay with no reply the reservation was incorrect. We do not add additional Guests under any circumstance to Guest Rooms.Your Expedia reservation was listed as 2 Adults Only. Arriving on an Island with 3 Adults put us in an awkward position as we did not want to refuse the 3rd person. Based on your review we should have.

Shame on you for following up with a poor review. We should have involved the Police for your Vandalism and willful destruction of our property in a manner that defaces and adds a physical blemish that diminishes the property's value. The right thing to do would be to remove this review. And I advised you to not bring your giant igloo cooler to the beach, which would have caused you to get a ticket as you told me others received from the OB Police. Shame on me for my kindness to lending you my personal over the shoulder cooler filled with ice. Perhaps learning to read might help you in the future!
