Wie in einem anderen Jahrhundert
Was für ein wunderbarer Aufenthalt. Begonnen hat es mit dem perfekten Check-in, hilfsbereiten und äusserst freundlichen Mitarbeitern. Das Zimmer mit Gartensicht in der dritten Etage war sehr geräumig und verströmte den Charme längst vergangener Zeiten, jedoch mit einer leistungsstarken Klimaanlage aus heutiger Zeit. Das Frühstück war sehr einladend und mit einer grossen Auswahl. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Still beautiful und with the aura of an era gone
Ich kenne das Winter Palace seit meiner Jugend und es bleibt neben dem Old Cataract in Oberägypten DAS Hotel schlechthin. Es ist natürlich in die Jahre gekommen, was man sieht, wenn man hinter die "Kulissen" - wie z.B. die den Gästen weniger zugänglichen Bereiche - schaut. Aber nie vergessen man ist in Ägypten und die Standards sind etwas anders wir bei uns. Darüber hinaus hat die Grande Dame all ihren Charme behalten und bleibt faszinierend.

HISTORISCHES HOTEL MIT RENOVIERUNGSBEDARF
Vieles wurde bereits gesagt und stimmt auch. Hier noch ein paar Anmerkungen. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Nilblick gebucht und auch eines im Erdgeschoss Nilseite bekommen. Problem ist nur im Erdgeschoss Nilseite sieht man den Fluss nicht , man hat nur den Autolärm von der Uferpromenade. Ich empfehle im Winter die Gartenseite zu wählen,denn dort scheint die Sonne morgens ins Zimmer,die Zimmertemperatur wird dadurch angenehm und es ist ruhiger. Klimaanlage ist vorhanden , deren Auswirkungen auf das Raumklima ließen sich für uns nicht erkennen. Essen in den 2 geöffneten Restaurants ist empfehlenswert - ärgerlich war nur, dass an einem Abend ein Restaurant ohne Vorinformation für eine Reisegruppe reserviert war und das 1886 viel zu klein für die verbliebenen Hotelgäste war. Aber so ist Ägypten : Inschallah

Mit Betreten des Hotels wird man 100 Jahre zurück versetzt. Das ganze Hotel atmet Geschichte, es stimmt jedes Detail. Es macht einfach nur Spaß, durch die weiten Flure zu schlendern, den wunderbaren Garten zu durch streifen oder abends in der im Kolonialstil gehaltenen Bar einen Drink zu nehmen. Überall freundliches und zuvorkommendes Hotelpersonal. Wunderbar das französisch angehauchte Frühstück. Wenn man in Luxor übernachten will, dann im Winterpalace!!

リバービューのお部屋はナイル川の美しい景色を満喫出来、ルクソール神殿にも近く、その周辺には飲食店もあり、立地は素晴らしいです。 チェックアウトが朝早かったのでブレックファーストボックスをお願いしたら快く用意してくださいました。 お庭やプールも綺麗で館内のインテリアも素敵です。 バスルームだけシャワーを使用すると洗面やトイレ部分の床がビチャビチャになります。2泊して2回目は工夫してみましたがやはりビチャビチャになり、水はけも悪く朝になっても乾いていませんでした。 それ以外は満足しています。

Sumptuous elegance and calm against the back drop of a chaotic city My mum and I spent a week here for her 80th b’day present. This is an oasis of calm compared to the chaos and hassle of Luxor. From the fact our room was upgraded by the lovely reception staff to have more space for the week we were there, to the soft and unbelievably comfy bed linen to the absolutely amazing staff who helped us, this is a wonderful Hotel. I can’t name them all as I’d be here all day, but stand outs were Ashraf, Khaled and Rashidy. And then the lovely receptionist, the brilliant door man who helped change my dollars on last day, to the lovely female cleaner. Mum had the best time and we ended up eating there every day as we liked the service so much.

A historic hotel in a prime location with wonderful staff and lots of charm. The staff takes great pride in their jobs and work really hard to accommodate your every need and request. Rooms are nice and offer very comfortable beds. The bar/lounge by the lobby was excellent. Great staff, service and live piano during happy hour. The grounds are spacious and beautiful. The pool is large, but requires significantly more chlorine as it has algae throughout the grout, walls and filters. The food was ok. Absolutly nothing to reflect or rival a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was ok. The food at the pool was subpar. Dinner was ok. The stores connected to the hotel are a circus. Nobels Art Gallery and Nobels Jewelers are all owned by the same family and are a complete rip off. I purchased an 18k cartouche from Shady. I picked up my cartouche and went back to the hotel and realized the letters on my name were FAKE GOLD. I took it back to the store and informed him I knew it wasn’t real gold. He admitted it and refunded me. So disturbing. I made the hotel aware given the stores products are displayed throughout the hotel endorsing the stores. Overall, the hotel was ok. It is a historic hotel but absolutly not a five star hotel.

This was one of my best experiences at a hotel. The Victorian ambience is charming. The service is absolutely phenomenal - the staff really take care of you and are super-friendly. The rosemary chicken at the restaurant was the best I have ever had.

Wonderful old hotel
First we had a small room without balcony although I had booked a Nile view room. But we got a huge room with a balcony overlooking the amazing garden. The hotel is a bit rundown but lovely. Breakfast was excellent. All in all wonderful three days

It's a beautiful hotel, in a beautiful location, in desperate need of a total renovation. Everything is either dirty, or outdated. From peeling paint to toilets not flushing properly, everything need a gut job. Our room had a stunning view, but heating, bidet and windows did not work properly. We were freezing because of the draft from the old windows that don't close properly. The entire hotel is falling apart, certainly not the luxury experience we were expecting. We could not wait to get out of there.
