Die Lage dieses Hotels ist gut. Durch die Nähe des Bahnhofs kann man schnell die unterschiedlichsten Attraktionen erreichen. Ebenso ist das Hotel sauber. Negativ zu bemängeln ist der Service/Rezeption als auch die teils abgewohnten Zimmer. Die Klimaanlagen sind laut und funktionieren in einigen Zimmern nicht, am ersten Tag gab nur nur eiskaltes Wasser und auch Anfragen bzgl Upgrades wurden ignoriert. Die Freundlichkeit der Rezeption war auch überschaubar. Aufgrund der Nähe zum Krankenhaus kann man leider nicht mit offenem Fenster schlafen. Normale Doppelbettzimmer sind mit einem französischen Bett ausgestattet und nicht für 2 Personen geeignet. Rundum sind wir sehr enttäuscht und von dem Hotel und können es keinesfalls empfehlen. Hier muss dringend an Zimmern und Service gearbeitet werden!

Das Mercure Hotel überbuchte seine Zimmerkapazität und verfrachtete uns in ein anderes Hotel in der Nähe. Dort erhielten wir dann einen Kellerraum, jedoch mit der Auslobung, dieses neue Hotel sei vom Standard her höher und besser…. wir waren sprachlos.

Wir wurden, mit unserer Zustimmung, ausgelagert in ein benachbartes Hotel der selben Kette. Dort war alles prima. Das Frühstück nicht umwerfend aber ok. Die Bar im wiederum Nachbarhotel sogar Nachts mit freundlicher Bedienung noch geöffnet.

Das Hotel liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Bahnhof Paddington und ist so ein guter Ausgangsort für Ausflüge. Allerdings ist das Hotel in die Jahre gekommen und nicht sehr sauber.

Überbewertetes 4-Stern Hotel in guter Lage
Das Mercure Paddington Hotel befindet sich in gute Lage (neben Paddington Station), ist aber als 4-Stern-Hotel überwertet und deshalb zu teuer. Es handelt sich eher um ein klassisches 3-Sternhotel. Unser Zimmer war klein und eng, die Einrichtung etwas veraltet und der Komfort durchschnittlich. Das Frühstück im angrenzenden Restaurant Carfunkel's war teuer und wenig empfehlenswert.

Modernes Hotel mit direktem U-Bahn Anschluss
Es war ein sehr freundlicher Empfang. Der erste so wie der Zweite Eindruck vom Hotel waren, modern und sauber. Die Zimmer sind zwar relativ klein, aber für einen Städte oder Buisness Trip gut geeignet. Keine 50m Fußweg (einmal über die Straße) liegt die nächste U-Bahnstation, die einen überall hinbringt. Es liegt zwar direkt an der Straße aber dennoch ruhig. Im direkten Umfeld befinden sich einige Restaurants sowie Pubs die vom Preis/Leistungsverhältniss sehr gut sind. Kurz und knapp gesagt es gibt für überkorrekte Personen immer etwas zu beanstanden aber für den preis die die Sauberkeit, Herzichkeit, Anbindung und Leistung zu bekommen ist es nur empfehlenswert.

The room was tiny, the bed even smaller! The duvet was too small for the duvet cover. The blind on the window the cord was tangled. The lights worked intermittently. The hotel was clean and tidy. But was very dissatisfied with the room was definitely not worth the high price paid. Although not the hotels fault, there are a lot of construction work right outside the hotel. The window of the room looked over the construction work, so it was very noisy and the flimsy blind did not block out the bright lights . So I would only give the room itself. One star at best!!

Pros: My room was very small, but clean and well designed. Bed was comfortable. Free water and soft drinks in the room are a nice touch. Location is very convenient, just around the corner from the Paddington station, with a plenty of restaurants around the hotel. Cons: I was kept waiting at reception desk at check-in because of system difficulties. It was 10pm so I was pretty tired. The walls are very thin so you can hear your neighbours.
