Die Rezeption ist ausserordentlich freundlich. Frühstück ist ausreichend. Die zimmer sind minimalistisch aber ausreichend für ein paar Tage. Die Lage ist perfekt.

Die Unterkunft war sehr gut zu erreichen von der Russell Square Station. Sehr freundliches Personal und gutes Frühstück. Wände sind allerdings sehr dünn. Und die Zimmer können nicht richtig abgedunkelt werden. Ansonsten top!

The hotel is located pretty conveniently, right between Russell Square and King’s Cross/St. Pancras. It’s in a nice area, the street is pretty quiet. The people working there are super nice! We were able to store our luggage both before we checked in and after we checked out. The bed was VERY small for two people, the bathroom was also very small. Breakfast was nice, full English buffet. Would definitely come here again!

All in all, the hotel was OK-ish for its category. My room I was roughly the size of a shoebox (fair enough for the price, I suppose) - however, it was incredibility cold and very drafty (Room No. 33). There seemed to be no insulation and despite a radiator, the heat didn't stay at all. I was super lucky to have brought a hot-water bottle with me, otherwise it wouldn't have been bearable to stay in the room (we're talking early December, around zero degrees Celsius). The breakfast as ample for the price. The staff at the reception was very nice and helpful - the staff in the breakfast room, not so you much (you got ignored and/or ordered around rather harshly...). The location of the hotel is probably its best feature. You can reach 3 tube station by foot and a few sightseeing attractions are nearby as well (British Library just around the corner; British Museum as well). It's located in a crescent and it was very quiet at night. Would I return? No, honestly, I don't think I would. Maybe for a bigger room which is guaranteed not to freeze me solid in winter.

Für Londoner Verhältnisse war alles okay. Die Zimmer sind natürlich Mini klein und nichts besonderes, aber zum schlafen ist es absolut okay. Die Betten waren sehr bequem. Das Zimmer wurde jeden Tag frisch gereinigt und mit Handtüchern bestückt. Kings Kross ist um die Ecke und dadurch ist die Lage natürlich super praktisch.

Staff is nice, friendly and helpful but that is not a hotel. It is a refurbished house. Room was too small for the price. The bin is too small and there is only 1 bin in the toilet. The soap provided is cheap. The sink is very very small. The heating couldn't be turned on. It's not a hotel, it's a refurbished house.

Affordable hotel near St. Pancreas / Kings Cross with a nice full breakfast. I stayed at this place for business and knew ahead of time it's a budget hotel. That said, a few things could be improved - pillows are Ikea style foam. Not comfy - shower pressure is light / trickle; sometimes it stopped mid shower Overall though it was fine for the value and it seemed like a family run business

Clean, pleasant staff, facilities as advertised, very good breakfast, ideally located on Tavistock square and near Russel Square, area felt safe. Minor comments, hot water for shower seems to come on at certain times, so something to be aware of. Level of isolation between rooms could be better. However, none of these were disruptive to my stay and would book again and a recommended hotel for a stay in London.

Hotel is very handy for Kings Cross and Euston, and was clean and comfortable. But as an older property rooms were small and I was right behind reception desk by lift. Breakfast doesn’t start till 7:30 so as I was working and leaving early both days I missed out. Friendly staff.

Overall it was a nice stay. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and a very good breakfast. The only downside was we stayed in the family room for five people that faces the park and Main Street, the window does not block out noise so you hear everything including people walking by talking, playing in the park or talking outside the pub on the corner until late at night and starts again early in the morning with whomever is walking by talking or people in the park. Maybe it’s just that room and we were unlucky as we did not stay in any other room.

Gut: Sauberkeit und Personal & Service
Our confirmation email from the hotel did not contain the address of the George hotel or a daytime number. Arriving from a long haul holiday and finding no internet on my phone I could not contact the hotel or give a taxi the correct address. Staff were quite unconcerned about this and blamed expedia and certainly did not appear to be bothered about correcting their confirmation email. Another client was complaining about the same thing the day after.

Dear Kathleen, Thank you for letting us know. We have reported this to Expedia as they are the ones sending out confirmation when a reservation is through them. It doesn't come directly from us. Kind RegardsGeorge Hotel
