Die Lage des Hotels in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Bahnhof "Lime Street" und der Innenstadt ist super. Das Hotel selbst ist ziemlich herunter gekommen und hochgradig renovierungsbedürftig. (durchgelatschte und verschlissene Teppiche, Schimmelflecken an Wänden und Decke in unserem Zimmer 207) Das Bett und das Bad (wenn auch mit einfachster Ausstattung) waren allerdings sauber. Das Frühstück ist einfach (Toast, Margarine, Schinken, Käse, Müsli und Joghurt) aber für den Preis absolut ok. Das Personal war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Für ein Fußballwochenende mit Männern (nur 10 Minuten mit dem Bus zum Stadion) völlig ausreichend. Ich war zwar zum Fußball da, allerdings mit Frau...und die war nur mäßig begeistert von der Unterkunft.

Einfaches Hotel in Citylage
Das Hotel befindet sich günstig gelegen in der Liverpooler Innenstadt, nicht weit von der Lime Street Station entfernt. Es gab eine 24 Stunden Rezeption, was ich sehr gut fand, da ich spät angereist bin. Das Personal im Hotel war generell super freundlich. Das Zimmer war allerdings sehr klein, eine Tür zum Bad gab es nicht. Auch das Waschbecken war winzig. Ärgerlich war, dass die Heizung nicht funktionierte und es draußen ziemlich kalt war. Am nächsten Morgen habe ich das Problem gemeldet und es wurde sich im Laufe des Tages gekümmert und (da es nicht sofort zu reparieren ging) ein kleiner Heizkörper ins Zimmer gestellt. IM Zimmer gab es leider nur wenige Ablagen, auch keinen Stuhl. Der Aufzug funktionierte nicht. Den Code für das kostenlose WLAN musste man auch erst erfragen. Handseife wurde auch nicht zur Verfügung gestellt. Toll fand ich den Wasserkocher und auch das Bett war bequem und die Bettdecke und das Kissen waren auch in Ordnung. Der Flachbild-TV war riesig, meiner Meinung nach etwas zu groß, denn das Bett stand gleich daneben. Das Frühstück war sehr einfach gehalten, aber zumindest stand auch Obst zur Verfügung. Generell würde ich hier wieder übernachten. Aber das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis fand ich doch etwas zu hoch.

Kaltes Badezimmer & unqualifizierte Rezeptionisten
War waren eine Woche in Liverpool. Das Hotel schaut relativ neu renoviert aus. Das Zimmer war zwar sehr klein, aber gemütlich eingerichtet und das Badezimmer hatte eine angenehme Größe. Am ersten Tag bemerkten wir, dass die Heizung im Bad nicht funktionierte. Wir teilten den Rezeptionisten dies mit und sie sagten uns, dass es bald behoben wird. Jedoch, auch nach weiteren nachfragen, wurde die Heizung nicht repariert. Sondern nur der Mangel ein weiteres Mal in ein Buch eingetragen. Den Rezeptionisten schien das Problem ziemlich gleichgültig zu sein. Nur am Ende unseres Aufenthalts, als wir dies nochmal bemängelten, erhielten wir von einer freundlicheren Rezeptionistin eine Entschuldigung für die nicht reparierte Heizung. Aber Fact ist, unser Bad blieb die ganze Woche eiskalt. Außerdem ist das Hotel nicht für Leute zu empfehlen die einen leichten Schlaf haben. Eine Art Pub im Erdgeschoss sowie ein weiterer Eventraum neben dem Hotel sorgten in 3 von 7 Nächten für eine erhebliche Lärmbelästigung. Aber die Lage des Hotels ist top und befindet sich sehr nahe des Stadtzentrums. Das Frühstück ist sehr einfach. Falls man sich ein ausgiebiges Frühstück erhofft, ist man hier an der falschen Adresse. Unser Fazit: Das Zimmer selbst ist okay und die Lage des Hotels ist super. Aber den meisten Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption fehlt es an Kompetenz und Motivation. Außerdem ist die Lärmbelästigung in der Nacht manchmal sehr grenzwertig.

Das Hotel ist einfach und günstig. Es ist geeignet für Gäste ohne spezielle zusätzliche Bedürfnisse, welche eine günstige Unterkunft suchen. Das Bett war ok, die Dusche war eher schlecht. Die Lage ist hervorragend zur Erkundung von Liverpool (direkt am Bahnhof Lime Street.

Gutes Hotel für Bahnreisende. Sehr nahe bei der Lime Street Station gelegen. Vom Hotel aus ist das Stadtzentrum sehr gut zu Fuss zu erreichen. Das Frühstück war i.O. Das Zimmer schön. Allerdings ist das Badezimmer eher klein.

Einfaches Hotel gleich an der Limestation
Mein Einzelzimmer war gleich gegenüber des Fahrstuhls, man hörte jeden ankommenden Gast. Das Zimmer selbst war klein, ein Schlauch, außer dem Bett gab es nur einen Sessel, keinen Tisch, immerhin ein kleines Regal auf dem zwei Tassen und ein Wasserkocher sowie Teebeutel zum Gebrauch standen. Der Fernseher war auf der Wandlängsseite montiert und somit vom Bett nicht einsehbar, drehen ließ er sich auch nicht, aber egal, zum Fernsehen war ich sowieso nicht in Liverpool. Ansonsten geeignetes sauberes Hotel für Anspruchslose.

A welcoming hotel near Lime Street station
I came up to Liverpool for a few days for the golf and this hotel was perfect for me. Don’t judge a book by its cover because inside it’s a comfortable and welcoming place to stay. Everyday when I was out, the staff would change the towels and was always on top of the cleaning. The free continental breakfast was great which filled me until lunchtime. If you are looking for a affordable place to stay In Liverpool next to Lime Street station, then this hotel is for you.

Had to pay with cash (seems to be a recurring thing reading other reviews). Hotel is quite run down, especially the bathroom. Moldy and partially broken shower. No shampoo, only body wash. Ok continental breakfast

Thank you for your review. Our card machine is a WiFi machine and if the broadband signal drops it will not work we are sorry if this is an inconvenience. We are currently refurbishing the bedrooms with 55 to do this will take some time. We are only a 2* hotel so extra touches like the shower gel are not to be expected, the breakfast is complimentary .

The Nelson Hotel was perfectly located for us; minutes from Lime Street station, a short walk to the bus station, a short walk to the docks, plenty of restaurants and pubs in the area. The Walker Gallery and a Theatre are a stones throw away too. The staff at the hotel were all really friendly and helpful and we were made to feel very welcome. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was included - tea & coffee, fruit juice, toast, crumpets, yogurts, pre packed pastries, slices of ham and cheese and fruit. No cooked breakfast but I did see hard boiled eggs one morning. Fine for us. The hotel is quite tired looking from the outside and on the stairs and in the hallways but that wasn’t a problem for us. This is a budget hotel and it ticked the boxes. Would I stay again? Yes.

hit or a miss(a miss this time)
usually have no complaints at all about this hotel,i have stayed many times.however,on this occasion,i was disappointed.no towel big enough(only a hand towel)in room to shower,not enough shower gel,and(only noticed in the morning)no toilet paper in my bathroom! i did request a towel and more shower gel be left in my room whilst i went out,,but this wasn't done,despite being told that these things would be left in my room.minor things,but only fa air to point out how slow the service was.

The hotel is old and a bit worn-out, still clean and comfortable bed. All you need for a short stay in city centre for budget price. Continental breakfast is little more than continental. I could recommend to invest in a coffee machine to make the Continental breakfast + perfect. Nice staff.

Really great location - only a few minutes' walk from Lime Street station. Surprisingly quiet too given where it is. It's very cheap and so is not a luxury hotel by any means but it is amazing value for money and I slept very well and had a good bed/ shower and toilet. Staff were really kind and helpful.

Avoid at all costs.
If I could give this negative stars I would. The hotel is outdated, the elevator was broken when we arrived, my room was dirty, outdated and miniscule and frankly I didn't feel safe there. My friend faired slightly better as his room was clean with a broken window and leaking radiator. The 1 and only positive was the lady at reception who was very understanding when I told her I was leaving.

Thank you for your review we appreciate them all but only if they are honest. The hotel is old the building is over 200 years old . We checked your room it was not dirty apart from alittle dust . You booked a Single room which is for 1 person it was not going to be an apartment. Your friends room which you state had a leaking radiator is impossible seeing as there are no radiators it is electric heaters. The broken window is not broken that is a line in the frosting of the glass and he had no complaints. Honesty is always appreciated.

oh my god, horrible stay. there is breakfast which look like prison, limited breakfast, you do a line, they serve you like 2 slice of bread,one cheese etc. the building is old, we were located near stair case, we heard drunk people in the corridor running,lauphing , baby crying... people talking. in the street you can hear people shouting at night asking for help... i do not recommend...

Thank you for your review we appreciate them all but only when the truth is told. I do not know what a prison looks like but it will not be like our dining room. You are asked to take a seat and be called up to the buffet table you obviously didnt listen on check in. There is plenty of choice on the buffet table again you didnt look properly. The building is old but that is obvious. You booked a City Centre hotel on a weekend it was never going to be quiet but since when have we been responsible for people outside passing the hotel. Oh and by the way the breakfast is FREE you didnt have to pay for it.

Melhorar atendimento a um hospede brasileiro
Foi boa a estadia, simpáticos. Seria melhor se o wifi fosse pelo menos razoável. Perdemos o café da manhã porque chegamos 1 minuto depois das 10hs. A atendente assustou com a gente, não sabemos o motivo, e depois disse finished. Esse foi outro ponto negativo da estadia além do wifi.
