The best features of this Selina is the very convenient location in a small but central street in Barrio Alto. Public transport (several busses and the historical 28) is very near (Metro Cais do Sodré in 10min walk), but you don‘t suffer from noise. Lot‘s of nice restaurants and bars around, Chiado and a lot of sights in walking distance. I booked a standard room, which is ideal for one person, but could be quite small for two. Got 205 in the 2nd floor with nice garden view and enough light. Room and ensuite bathroom were clean (and serviced every day). Check-in was friendly and effective including a tour around the property (btw: very charming reception staff). Used the clean common kitchen several times. Missed a coffee making facility (not even a french press was available…). Unfortunately, buying coffee in the restaurant was not a good alternative, as I experienced staff there several times as not attentive and rather unfriendly. On my last day it was not possible to place an order at all, because the young lady busily prepared orange juice and stood backwise to the desk, not reacting on my three friendly trys to call her… Overall the 5-night-stay was good and suited my needs fully. Especially as I booked it in a package with the flight for less than 700,- €.

Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my stay at Selina Lisbon. The Rooftop was closed for my entire stay and they didn’t offer any kind of compensation for this or inform me upfront. Also, facilities in the dorms are very limited, there are no chairs, no nothing, very limited space to store your belongings securely. The only space that could be locked is in the bunk bed which is very impractical if you sleep on the upper one. Air quality was extremely bad in the dorm and on the last night there was a huge party right outside the window so it was super loud. I asked the staff for a bunk bed in any other dorm or any other solution and they just offered I could pay for a single room which would’ve been 350€ for one night so that was kind of ridiculous. The pool area is kinda nice but also not very clean and space is very limited. All in all, not worth 45€ per night for a bed in a 6-person-dorm.

Top Lage, Pool, Rooftop-Bar, sehr stilvoll eingerichtet, freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal, guter W-lan Empfang, sehr sauber. Schöner Aussenbereich, eine echte kleine Oase inmitten einem sehr lebendigen Viertel. Das Einzige was vielleicht zu bemängeln ist, jedoch aufgrund der hohen Frequentierung auch nachvollziehbar, sind verschiedene kleinere Mängel in den Gemeinschaftsbädern (defekter WC-Deckel, verstopfter Abluss etc.) Pool und Restaurant wurden aufgrund unseres eher kurzen Aufenthalts leider nicht genutzt. Nettes Hostel in super zentraler Lage mit sehr freundlichem Personal. Es gibt einen kleinen Pool und eine gemütliche Dachterrasse. Die alte Linie 28 fährt fast direkt vor der Tür. Es gibt fussläufig tolle Restaurants. Die Zimmer sind ok, jedoch gab es während des dreitägigen Aufenthalts nicht einmal eine Reinigung des Zimmers. Frische Handtücher mussten auch erst erfragt werden. Die Bäder sind schon sehr abgelebt und schimmelig. Wer nicht so auf Sauberkeit achtet, kann es hier ganz gut aushalten. Zudem ist alles sehr hellhörig.

Schönes Hotel mit Mängeln bei der Sauberkeit
Hotel war zum Zeitpunkt unseres Aufenthalt noch nicht ganz fertig. Die Bauarbeiten waren jedoch nicht weiter störend. Wir hatten insgesamt sieben Nächte gebucht. Die Lage ist für einen Städtetripp echt super. Sehr zentral, Die Electrico 28 fährt direkt durch die angrenzende Straße. Viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind fussläufig erreichbar, genau wie viele Bars und Restaurants. Die Zimmer sind nett recht und individuell eingerichtet, wir fanden viele Details jedoch unpraktisch gelöst. Im Bad überhaupt keine Ablagefläche, auf dem Bett ein Dutzend Kissen, die zum Schlafen zwangsläufig alle auf dem Boden gelegt werden mussten. Im Eingangsbereich eine halbe Küchenzeile mit Spüle, jedoch keine Kücheneinrichtung oder Kühlschrank vorhanden. Da stellt sich schon die Frage, was sich jemand dabei gedacht hat, als er das Zimmer auf die Art und Weise eingerichtet hat. Wirklich negativ war, dass das Zimmer drei Tage lang überhaupt nicht gereinigt bzw. gecheckt wurde. Wir haben an ersten Abend die diensthabende Mitarbeiterin an der Rezeption angesprochen und die Info erhalten, dies wäre unser Verschulden, weil wir nicht das grüne Schild außen an der Tür angebracht hätten. Einfach dreister Quatsch. Am Tag danach wurde das Zimmer trotz grünem Schild draußen wieder nicht gepflegt. Grundsätzlich kein Weltuntergang, mache ich daheim auch nicht. Aber vom einem Hotel mit entsprechender Preisgestaltung kann mehr erwartet werden.

Great cute hostel, like upscale in terms of a hostel - great common areas, we had a private room and only thing was it was a little hot and the only way to get air was windows, but the room was right next to the common coworkspace and you could hear everything with the window open

Not worth the price
It's cute and all but guys it's just not worth the price. It's still a hostel at the end of the day, it's just dressed up to look cute for instagram.. The shared bathrooms are kept in very poor condition and the check in process was unbelievably long. Nothing was horribly wrong, it's just that for the price, you can likely get a regular hotel room.

If they give you room 13, refuse to take it!! It’s right next to the restaurant and the door slams every 30 seconds and it is really noisy in the room. Other than that, it’s a good choice property if you’re on a budget and would like an outdoor pool. The rooftop bar is also great.

Very good experience
Overall it was very good. The room was clean and comfortable The breakfast at the hostel’s restaurant was very good and enough for the price. There should be AC in the rooms especially in the bathrooms. It was very noisy during morning&noon there were constructions in the street behind the hostel.

beau mais pas pour dormir ...
Juste impossible de dormir : entre les discussions sous la fenêtre et dans le dortoir aucun respect des personnes qui dorment (rapport d'un couple à partir de 2h00 du mat, vraisemblablement bien alcoolisé jusqu'à 5 heures... le rendez vous du matin a été difficile à mener... dommage car le lieu et son concept sont bien intéressants !
