The motel was fine, and at a convenient stopping point for our trip. The desk clerk was helpful, and we appreciated the landscaping and holiday lights.
But I would have preferred better disclosure in the advertising on hotels.com. It advertised 24/7 desk service and a restaurant on the premises. After we completed our nonrefundable payment, we received an email telling us that neither of these were true, and that in fact the restaurants in Lee Vining were closed for the season. This information was very helpful, but I would have preferred knowing before making the reservation. Furthermore, upon arrival , we had to pay an additional $11 "environmental fee," for which I do not recall getting any advance notice. It's not a lot of money, but add-ons are always an unpleasant surprise. I'm sure most guests would prefer more transparent notice of all of these at the time of booking.
