The Hotel is a bit dated and needs a refreshing. All the lights on the way to our room were off and most disappointing, the pool was closed due to an outage. This can happen of course, but any kind of compensating this, was refused. We would have expected any sign to adjust the loss of using the pool area. It is that that reception was not willing to do so. As a consequence we did not use the restaurant on our second day. This behavior is not a 4 star hotel behavior. That's a pity.

However, I must address your request for compensation for the pool not being available. As you may recall, the issue with the pool was communicated to you well in advance of your arrival. Additionally, you had option to cancel your stay free of charge. While we empathize with your frustration, we believe it would not be fair to offer compensation for a situation that was clearly communicated and could have been avoided by canceling the reservation within the allotted time frame.Once again, we apologize for any inconvenience you experienced and hope that you will consider staying with us again in the future.

Hotel in paradiesischer Umgebung
Die Umgebung ist paradiesisch, unschlagbar schön. Die Zimmer und das Restaurant sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen und würden mit etwas Renovierung gewaltig an Ansehen gewinnen. Das Frühstücksangebot entsprach nicht dem Standard des Hotels. Das Abendessen war sehr gut.

Schönes, ruhig gelegenes Haus
Die Lage des Hotels umgeben von einem Golfplatz und Blick auf Meer und Küste ist traumhaft, aber sehr Abseits. Die Zimmer sind groß und die ist Ausstattung ist zweckmäßig, nicht mehr ganz neu, aber sauber. Das Restaurant bietet eine relativ geringe Auswahl an Gerichten. Das Essen war geschmacklich sehr gut, obwohl je nach anwesendem Koch, doch sehr unterschiedlich. Am ersten Abend war das Munue rundum sehr gut und auch ansprechend präsentiert. Am zweiten Abend mit einem anderen Koch war das Essen nicht so hervorragend wie den Tag zuvor. Beim Frühstück wechselt das Küchenpersonal wohl auch, einmal waren es 2 große Pfannkuchen ohne Beeren und am,nächsten Tag 3 kleine mit Beeren, obwohl dasselbe Frühstück bestellt wurde. Preise für Essen inclusive. Frühstück eher an der oberen Grenze. Wentasting im dazu gehörenden und 300 m entfernten Weingut zu empfehlen, Lunch dort war auch gut, hier stimmt wiederum Preis/Leistung.

Stay away until they fix the water issue.
They told us that they were having water problems but we could brush our teeth and shower. Ugg, the water was brown!!! Who wants to use brown water? They also said they would provide bottled water. They gave us one!!! Dinner was fine, the property is nice but we left without showering. Didn't feel so good that day.

Hi Kenneth,Thanks for taking the time to provide the feedback.The issues regarding the water were conveyed to every guest as soon as we came to know about the problem and gave an option to either cancel their stay without penalty or reschedule without extra charges.As you decided to stay, we offered you to use the water from minibar apart from an extra water bottle placed in the room.If you needed more, it was just a call away as our Restaurant Staff or Night Manager would have dropped it in your room.I understand water is an essential commodity and that's why we gave heads up to all of our incoming guest to avoid dissatisfaction and disappointment.We always give priority to comfort and satisfaction to all of our guests and try our best to make their stay memorable in a positive way.

We set ourselves a high level to work to, and we will be addressing this with our team. The impact of the COVID years and consequential outcomes has meant Carrington Estate has been relatively isolated at many levels, combined with factors out of our hands such as government actions around hospitality and immigration, and the current economic factors. We have admittedly faced a bit of a struggle to deliver to that high standard we set, especially around this time of year when the area sees its highest visitor numbers over the Christmas and New Years period. The property is in a stunning location. The villas are in a run down condition with power points that don't work and when I arrived I had to fix the blinds that noone had maintained. Worse was the state of the water which was literally brown, both hot and cold and wasn't safe to drink and dried out the skin after a shower. The swimming pool was cold. When we called reception it took about 5 minutes for an answer and sometimes there was no answer in the late afternoons. The breakfasts were unaffordable.

Quiet, tropical feeling resort. Food in the restaurant was first class. Beautiful views. Friendly, relaxed staff. Big bedroom. Only issue was other guests walking on the deck past our bedroom window , had to keep shades down which detracts from enjoying the view.

OK Family Stay
We stayed at Carrington in one of the 3 bed villa's. The house itself was spacious and clean but a little tired around the edges. The AC was great ( needed as temp near 30 outside ) and views wonderful. Very self contained and as such feels quite removed from the facilities of hotel, which require's a drive to get to. We were there when very quiet so not much atmosphere and the restaurant at vineyard told us that food was unavailable 2 hrs before closing time as they had had a slow day and where closing early. We enjoyed our time there, pool is great, and less than 10 min drive to awesome beaches makes up for some of negatives.

Staff were okay except for the pool maintenance guy who was really rude and lacked customer service training. The pool was closed and in maintenance for 2 days that we were there. We got 3 villas. For the amount they charged a night you’d expect it will be good and spotless, but they were not. My family stayed in villa 4 which was ok but had clothes in the master’s bedroom which we think are left by previous guests. Villa 5 aircon was barely working in the lounge and the blinds was stuck and could not be adjusted which made the room really hot and uncomfortable on sunny days. Villa 2 aircon did not work at all. We reported this but staff did not do anything about it and just said they know about it but cannot do anything as aircon is old. Driving range is a dollar per ball which is too expensive. They should make it less expensive tor charged per bucket if balls to entice guests to try it. Winery and cafe was good.

Location was great with beautiful views across the golf course and out to sea. Villa we stayed in was very tired, needs updating into the 21st century. Carpet was stained, TV aerial point hanging out of the wall, some window blinds not working and outdoor deck furniture was broken with only 2 chairs for a 3 bedroom Villa. Staff were informed of the issues and overall disappointment and these were addressed with a reduction in per night cost which more appropriately reflected the property condition.

Overall we enjoyed our stay in this beautiful location but agree with other reviewers that the resort is looking tired. We were also disappointed that the golf course had just been cored. When we booked we were told this would be happening after our stay so we specifically changed the date of our stay to avoid this. It would have been nice to be updated if they changed their plans and brought the coring date forward. The restaurant and bar opening times were also not ideal, we finished golf at 2:30 and tried to have lunch but were told the restaurant was closed even though the compendium in our room said lunch was served until 3pm. Just little things and attention to detail could make this place so much better.

great spot but starting to get run down. limited choices for dining amd golf course in particular bunkers were in terrible condition

Beautiful estate with a huge beach to yourself if you are up to walking 30 minutes to reach it. Stayed in a villa for two days but there was no replenishing nor housekeeping for the second day. The restaurant atmosphere is non existant and the receptionist could have been working at a youth hostel. No personnel on the grounds - very quiet.

We are very sorry to hear that several things throughout your stay did not meet your expectations. Our villas are usually serviced on the 3rd day of a guest's stay, this is outlined on the welcome letters in the kitchen of each villa and on the guest information we provide upon check in, which also contains the WiFi details . However if toiletry items or fresh towels were required, our Housekeeping team would have been happy to arrange this if Reception was advised. Please note that your concerns have been passed on to our Restaurant Front of House department so improvements can be made. We do understand that the first impression of the resort is made when guests check in at Carrington, and we will certainly do our utmost to ensure that the impression guests have of the resort is of the highest caliber in future, we welcome this feedback as it is only through this we can improve.
