I checked in and got my room cards…opened the door to a dirty room. They were able to move me to another room without a wait. The room was fine but I felt like the air conditioner doesn’t work well-it never really cooled down and I had mentioned it to the front desk gal and she made sure I was using it correctly. There was hair in the shower, which happens and I know they try to clean but it still is kind of gross. The shower wasn’t draining well either-maybe they need to make sure the drain is cleared of hair as well. Breakfast was good with a little cheese omelette and sausage! I parked across the street in the parking garage which is like $4 cheaper, otherwise you can park across the street in their parking for $16 a day. Nice location with it just being a couple blocks away from restaurants and entertainment. There is an abandoned parking garage right next to the hotel and there were some questionable individuals around that area, but that is any city. The front desk lady that worked nights was awesome and friendly!

Thank you for letting me know and I apologize, again, that you experienced this. We are also in the process of getting the city involved to help secure that abandoned lot behind us. We have even attempted to buy it but they just won't sell. Anyway, thank you for your review. I appreciate your honesty! It has been a while since we have been to a hotel where all the staff were fun and friendly. We had a morning person to chat with and tell them about our plans for the day and a night person we hung out with to share our evening shenanigans with. The room was clean, nice, and roomy. Our view was of the River Bluff area and beautiful in the morning. Extra shiut out to Mike!! Glad we met you and you helped make our stay even better!

I wanted to rate this hotel higher but the elevator is the main reason I cannot. Only one working elevator and it was soooo slow! It slowed us down quite a bit and others were complaining about it too. Other than that the property was fine and met our needs.

Slowest elevators in existence
The hotel was very nice and conveniently located. However it had the slowest elevator I’ve ever been in. Including the door. It took 12 seconds for the door to fully open. 12 seconds doesn’t sound like a lot but count how many seconds a normal elevator takes to open its doors and you’ll realize how excruciating it is for the doors to take 12 seconds to open. Especially when you’re in a hurry to get to your room to take a dump. And it took over a minute to travel to the 6th floor. You can go to the top of the Empire State Building quicker than that. Parking was in a lot across the street, which was fine except they charged $16 to park. Should have been free.

Room was beautiful and quiet but the shower water was barely warm and we could not figure out the thermostat. Property and people were really nice. Breakfast was good. Not sure we should pay $16 to park outdoors maybe if it was a parking garage that would be okay.

We are so sorry for your inconvenience. Yes, the main water pipe busted causing the hotel to be shut down immediately. We immediately lost power and phones or we would have immediately called. We should be reopening in roughly 9-12 months and we would love to have you stay with us when we have been completely renovated. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

A Great Place To Stay
This hotel was clean and in a safe area close to the streetcar. It was easy and quick to get to Power and Light and the River Market on the streetcar. The the bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the bathroom and shower were great!

This place is only an eleven minute walk to P&L. Rooms are comfortable, parking could be a bit better as there are only two small lots and they maybe hold 40-50 vehicles in total.

Only one elevator worked and it was extremely slow. The room we were in was very nice but we were right by the stairs on the second floor. We heard the door slam all night because nobody wanted to wait on the elevator. Also, the door to the room didn’t automatically latch behind you. Overall it is a nice, clean place with a convenient location.

Rooms were very small the one window in the room was a view to our hallway. No signage up anywhere to say where ice machines were. No vending machines anywhere. Only selection was a small selection at the front desk. Breakfast was horrible. You could have oatmeal but no hot water just regular tap water. Fitness room was closed due to leaking water and towels all over the floor. Valet parking was a lot across the street where you parked your own car and got charged $8 per day to park there. Not one directory in the room to see what other services were offered, what attractions were around the area, what take outs were available etc. we didn’t find the staff friendly. We stayed there because it was a Hampton Inn but this one was clearly not like all the other ones we’ve stay at

Lisa- Thank you for choosing to stay with us. I am sorry that your experience was not pleasing to you. Please let me clear up any confusion that there may have been. The room that you booked, the 1 King Bed, Non Smoking (Interior Window), is a cheaper room and many choose it because of this but, you are right, it is an interior room. The Treat Shop, as you mentioned, found on the first floor, has taken the place of the vending machines that Hampton Inns have had in the past. I apologize about the breakfast. Covid mandates have halted the hot breakfast buffet and Hilton has asked us to simply put a "Grab and Go' bag together consisting of an apple, a muffin or granola bar and a bottle of water. We have opened the kitchen to allow guests a broader choice of individually wrapped breakfast items. Many guests appreciate the choice rather than the bag. The carafe of hot water could be found between the bowls and the oatmeal. You are right, there is a leak in our fitness center, however, Covid mandates require the fitness center to remain closed due to social distancing. Again, I apologize for the confusion. We will all be much happier when this nasty virus is behind us and Hampton Inns are allowed to do what we are known for. Thank you again!
