We arrived in Mykonos especially for the beach closest to the hotel - Kalo Livadi.
According to the hotel description, the beach is 300 meters from the hotel; we therefore reasonably assumed that we would walk there.
While we were waiting for our room to be ready. We decided to go to the beach. As soon as we started walking, we were alarmed to find a super-steep downhill walk on a motor road with no sidewalk. After a few minutes, my mother slipped and twisted her ankle. We hardly made it back up to the hotel. We went straight to reception and explained that this is not what we had expected - we believed there would be an accessible walking path from the hotel to the beach, and there is no way we can walk there under these circumstances.
As the hotel is isolated with no public transport around, we had no way of getting to the beach other than booking a taxi especially every time for a 2 min drive.
We realized we would have to change hotels, and explained this to the staff asking for at least a partial refund. We did not even go into our room, we made a booking with a different hotel and left within the hour.
Reception said they had inquired with the management, and there is no way they would compensate us in any way because the booking was non-refundable, we received the same response when we reached out to Radisson customer service.
The one dish we tried at the pool bar was inedible
