We did not feel welcome at all. Not a single hotel employee ever smiled at us. They were extremely unhelpful. At the check-in, we did not receive any information (internet access, location and time of breakfast, check-out time etc.) Every single piece of information we had to ask for. The worst was the parking situation. Parking in Genova is expensive. There is a public parking garage right under the hotel (2.40 €/hour) as well as a dedicated parking area for guests only. However, we never were able to get access to the hotel parking area. Moreover, we were unable to get any information on why we could not get access to that parking. After asking on multiple occasions, we got the impression that the hotel parking is only for "premium customers". This is just a suspucion, of course, since nobody could tell us anything precise. After having spent more than 50 € on parking, we found out that nearby the hotel there is a public parking for 17 €/day - much cheaper. The receptionists were completely oblivious of this. Also: Security at this hotel is terrible. They will hand out any room key to anybody. We tested this and asked for a random key upon our return from the beach. They did not check our identity or what our actual room number was. They just handed us the wrong key. Do not leave any confidential information or valuables in your room outside the safe! Nobody in this hotel feels responsible for your well being as a guest. Better stay at a hotel that appreciate their guests.
