A gem in the heart of Gainesville
A lovely B&B in the heart of Gainesville, 5 minute walk to Bo Diddley Plaza. The owner and staff are very welcoming and kind. Wonderful property with tranquil garden. The absolute highlight was the breakfast - lots of fresh products, good locally roasted coffee and each day a variety of freshly cooked dishes. I loved the local sausages fresh from a farm, eggs done to perfection, the freshly baked cakes, bread, and a wonderful jackfruit fritatas. Where do you find something like that elsewhere? It was a lovely stay

Charmantes Hotel
Ein hotel mit sehr viel Charme. Das ganze wurde aus mehrere einer grosse, Antik Familienhauser umgebaut. Jede Zimmer ist anders. Es ist nicht alles optimal wie eine moderne Kaserne-Hotel, und deswegen ist es "cool". Mitarbeiter sind sehr sympathisch und hilfsreich.

Englisches Cottage in der Stadt
Das Victoria Cottage bietet viel Platz und englischen Charme, inkl. Cheminée. Sehr sauber. Die Matratze war leider durchgelegen und hat mich nicht schlafen lassen.

It’s a really beautiful property made up of several nice old Florida homes. The salt water pool was a pleasant addition. The included breakfast was nice but the cost for additional guests to join did not match what was offered. It felt a bit odd to charge so much so that people I was visiting could join me when for much less we could have gotten more from a local restaurant. The parking is limited - one spot per room, which wasn’t an issue for me but should be told in advance. They offer many ways to upgrade your stay (massages, flowers, etc) so this would be a great place to stay for an anniversary. I do think the cost was too high out of season, and I would expect a lower rate for mid-May. I would come back but I think they would be cost-prohibited in season. I will say because it’s an old Florida property, it also has features like a lack of central air and a general humidity inside which some travelers might not enjoy, especially in the summer months.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! What a special place! We were traveling through and it was like a movie montage in the midst of a tough trip. Scenic, breakfast was lovely, property is unique and perfectly located for night life. Would stay again and again.

Beautiful property with excellent service. Check in was easy, kitchen staff were very welcoming and although we had some issues with some noisy guests at night downstairs, we called the after hours number and they quieted them down so we could sleep. Cute property.

Quaint, charming inn. Staff was pleasant at all times. Stayed two nights will be back for two nights again this week and hopefully for five more nights next weekend. Property was excellent! Breakfast was right up my alley.

Just an excellent experience!
This place was priced economically but the experience was exquisite! Late check in was a breeze, snacks were available upon arrival, and the breakfast in the morning was great! The beds were comfy (even the murphy in the Piccadilly suite) and far better than expected. Parking is quiet and safe and I’ll absolutely be back if I need to stay in the area!

Wonderful visit !
We enjoyed the morning breakfast, the beautiful landscaped environment, & perfect location close to down town Gainesville. Entire staff very friendly and helpful! Loved the “mini kitchen” & porch with rocking chairs. Lovely large park right behind our cottage. The main house was beautifully decorated. It would be nice to have a “cheese & wine” reception everyday- nice way for guests to visit. Needs improvement- Dogs staying in cabins barking all day/ We only had one large & one small bath towel/ Noise between connected cabins in cottages is terrible! It was like our neighbors were actually walking & talking in our room! Insulation needs to be added to the walls of connecting rooms. In the mean time guests need to be given earplugs at check in time. Except for “sound issues” - (dogs barking & noise between connecting rooms) our stay was very enjoyable & this B&B is extremely charming. They have a huge room that can be used for social functions, and an outdoor courtyard with fountains, ponds, and sitting areas .

Amazing room. I just love it. When I visit Gainesville I will always book a room at the Sweetwater Branch Inn. The king bed is absolutely wonderfully comfortable. The room is stunning. Two comfy arms chairs, TV on wall adjusts to your liking. Temperature of the room was perfect. I would never stay in a hotel again when in this area. I can't wait for breakfast! Home cooked meal.

The Inn that made history!
I had the best experience. Check in was a breeze and I like the old fashioned keys that are provided. I forgot my toothbrush and they had a few essentials there for purchase. I only interacted with one staff member, Laurent, and he made quite an impression. He was very nice and considerate. I came back after a late dinner with a friend as he was closing up for the night. Before he left he made sure I didn’t need anything. I thought that was thoughtful. The accommodations were top notch. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Gainesville other than here, again. I love history, and the houses brought that. I like the red ropes across the doorways to each room/suite. You were able to see the beautiful, unoccupied rooms, without entering. The antiques, the decor in general, the thought that went into making the houses feel like a home was comforting. I believe I may have been the only guest in my particular house, but I felt safe, and had the best nights sleep. I highly recommend the Sweetwater Branch Inn.
