as Grand Burstin Hotel lockt seine Gäste mit schönen Bildern und günstigen Preisen. Wer jedoch - wie ich - sich vorher nicht genauer mit den Rezensionen befasst, wird böse überrascht. - Extra Parkgebühren 5£ (die zwar auch auf der Internetseite des Hotelbetreibers ausgewiesen werden), aber keinen Parkplatz garantieren ("first come first serve"). - Unfreundliches Personal - einige Mängel in den Zimmern (u.A. ließ sich das Badezimmer nicht abschließen) - mehrmals Feueralarm für 4-5 Sekunden in der Nacht (ohne tatsächliche Gefahr/Evakuierung) - mittelmäßige Hygiene der Räume. 1/5 Sternen insgesamt!

Room and service absolutely ok - building outdated
We just stayed a night for our early morning ferry, probably the same as 90% of the guests in the hotel. Service was fast and efficient, but we only needed check-in and check-out. The room was large and very tidy, and had a view to the beach, so absolutely no issue here. The building itself definitely requires some re-work, but the hotel does what it is supposed to do. I would definitely not recommed it for vacation, but for our purposes it was just perfect.

Wir sind in einen Keller einquartiert worden. Zimmer mit Fenster. Wunderschöner Blick auf meterhohes Unkraut, welches eine Hauswand verziert. Im Zimmer stank es nach Mottenkugeln und Insektenvertilgungsmittel. Was nicht verwunderlich war, da es im Zimmer nur so vor Mücken wimmelte. Die Bettwäsche und Handtücher schien auch schon mal in Benutzung gewesen zu sein. WLAN und Handyempfang gleich Null! Nachts ging ohne Grund mehrfach der Rauchmelder an. Mit Schlafen war nichts… auch weil Lautsprecher auf dem Flur alles beschallt hat. Für 100€ pro Nacht ist es eine Frechheit gewesen

Das Hotel müsste dringend saniert werden. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt überhaupt nicht. Für so eine unterirdische primitive Unterkunft müsste der Preis deutlich niedriger sein. Am besten gar nicht buchen, falls man etwas anderes findet. War bei uns, weil wir sehr kurzfristig gebucht haben, leider nicht möglich.

This hotel would only rate two to three star but it is good value for money. We didn’t eat there so cannot comment on the food. Entertainment is available. It is placed by the harbour and close to shops. The room was clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Overall assessment is cheap but good value.

Whilst the Grand has seen better times, the price reflected this factor. The greeting was warm and friendly. My room was upgraded to a double which was very clean. All in all a good stop overnight for my onward journey.

A good hotel by the harbour for a low price which was good. The staff were great and the room had amenities such as iron, hairdryer, coffee and soap etc.. Negatives were that the walls are so thin you can hear every door slam or conversation from other guests rooms. The reception staff did offer to allow me to change rooms for my second night to be fair. Also I didnt find the mattress very comfy so I didn't get the best sleep. The pool is an extra charge of £3 and is quite a small pool and the hotel offers a small gym. Parking is £5 a day and the car park is within the hotel. I didnt eat there so can't comment on the food but they offered a good choice of menu and happy hour on drinks.

The room is nice and now has a fridge which is new to here. The only criticism is that no one comes in the empty the bins or replenish the tea, coffee etc unless you request it the day before. This is an old building and this is shown in the attention to detail to maintenance like door handles bath taps etc. May see silly but taken for granted as better in other hotels. Also the toilet was dirty below the water line.

Worst hotel ever
Awful horrible place....so dirty and outdated The locks on doors do not work....key cards do not work so no access repeatedly...it took me 3 attempts just to get into the correct wing having to return to reception 3 times. Bed terrible with cover so thin. Do not stay here

This is my 3/4 time staying at the hotel. We Had a lovely stay, best so far. The hotel was quiet, but not sure if that was because it was February. The room was clean and comfortable. The view was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful.
