Hotel mit guter Lage
Die Hotellage ist gut. Leider kein vorzeitiger Check in und auch kein späterer Check out. Ebenso kein upgrate für's Zimmer. Der angegebene Balkon ist eine Zumutung. Dafür sollte man kein extra Geld ausgeben. Sehr, sehr schmal und zu nichts nutze. Alles andere ist sehr gut. Tolles Frühstück, dass nichts zu wünschen übrig liess.

Das Hotel war für uns total perfekt. Wunderschön eingebettet in das Grassmarket Viertel mit Blick auf die Burg. Das Zimmer, sehr gut ausgestattet, mit vielen Extras, Bügelbrett, Möglichkeit zum Kaffee kochen und, und. Eine warmherzige Willkommenskultur. Das Hotelpersonal, immer freundlich, bietet einen sehr guten gastorientierten Service. Einzige Anregung, mehr Haken im Bad für Kleidung und Handtücher. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Es gab nicht genügend Schrankkapazität oder Haken im Bad, um Kleidung und Handtücher für 2 Gäste aufzubewahren, die 4 Nächte gebucht hatten

Super Lage, sehr freundliches Personal, tollen Blick auf die Burg. Keine Klima-Anlage und Fenster, die sich nur 10 cm öffnen lassen. Auf der Sonnenseite unerträglich. Da nutzt auch der Ventilator nichts. Das Restaurant ist wenig einladend, die Möbel darin sehr abgenutzt und das Frühstück eher mäßig. Die vier Sterne sind nicht gerechtfertigt.

We booked a castle view room, but still ended up in the ground floor. We could see the castle - but only just. The room was tiny, the bathroom was even smaller and we had no air conditioning (heating). The toilet ran the entire time (like a tap running) - not very green. The facilities in the room where non-existent, but it’s the first 4 star hotel I’ve stayed at that included a pedestal fan (did I mention no air conditioning) The web site says they have a laundry - but they only have a 3rd party laundry service (not the same thing). So I was charged £32 to clean 2 pairs of pants and 2 tee shirts. BUT, when the laundry was returned to the hotel I had to go down to reception to pay for it on my Cc ( they would not send it up to the room - or put it on the bill like every other hotel you’ve stayed at) We were there 4 days, the glass in the main front door was shattered already when we got there, and was still not fixed when we left - first impressions don’t matter, clearly. The location was incredible, but this is NOT a four star hotel

Unfortunately our room was facing Grassmarket and the castle. Although it was great to have a view of the castle, Grassmarket was very noisy until well into the wee hours. I think because of the castle walls sounds echo. I would suggest a room on the back side of the hotel.

This is a nice hotel in a great location! Within walking distance of the Royal Mile. Just know there is no AC. Had to keep the window open to keep the room cool. Also, the bathtub/shower is unusually high, making it difficult to get in & out without slipping.

Everything was wonderful… except we were unprepared for the fact that there was no air conditioning!!!!!!!!!!! We had never heard of a hotel without air conditioning!!!!! We lucked out that the daytime temperature was cool and and the nighttime temps even cooler and the hotel has a fan in the closet. The bed was VERY comfortable. The bed linens were VERY nice also. The room was VERY clean. And had everything we needed. Staff was first class in every way! Would highly recommend for comfort and location and with the most beautiful view of the Edinborough Castle!

The Hotel needs to allow the travellers to use the Gym, swimming pool and sauna any time they need. My wife and I wanted to use the swimming pool and sauna at 6:00 a.m. which we were denied. I chose this Hotel because of the swimming pool and sauna.

Just an average hotel in a very busy area. Lots of shopping and close to many attractions but I was disappointed in the room (careful to read the amenities list as there is no a/c) and while room was clean felt the property was a bit frumpy and in major need of renovations. Also expensive for the quality of the hotel.
