My wife and I stayed in the Captain's House section of The Sydney in September 2022. At check-in we got two room keys, one of which did not work. We stayed in Room #6 on the third floor. There are 33 steps to the third floor, with no elevator. The room was small and the bathroom tiny. There were no luggage racks and only two hooks with two hangars affixed to a wall, so we put our suitcases on the floor. The safe was on the floor in a nook and could only be accessed on one's hands and feet. The Sydney's wi-fi did not work all day Saturday or Sunday. The price we paid was outrageous for the value received.
Positives: The staff (including Angela and housekeeping) was responsive, the location was outstanding, and the breakfast was satisfactory.
