Die Lage in Lincoln Park ist unschlagbar: mit der L und Bussen gut erreichbar, ganz nah am Park/Lake/Zoo/Notebaert Museum aber trotzdem recht ruhig; das Hostel ist zwar sehr groß aber gut eingerichtet, sauber und, je nachdem was man möchte, ruhig zum schlafen oder gut für Aktionen. Auch für Familien sehr gut geeignet (waren Anfang August auch einige da). Das Frühstück war für US Verhältnisse okay: immerhin kein Wegwerf-Geschirr, Tee/Kaffee/Milch/Saft, Cerealien, manchmal Joghurt, Waffeln und Brot zum toasten, Butter, Marmelade und Sirup/Honig. Obst wäre noch schön gewesen.

Das Hostel liegt in einer sehr guten Gegend, die Bahn nach Chicago ist in etwa 10 Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Die Einrichtung ist modern und geschmackvoll. Das Personal ist freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir empfehlen das Getaway Hostel!

besuch aus der schweiz
die abgebieldteten Fotos waren zu modern..Das Haus befindet sich eher in einem schlechtern Zustand. Die Etagen Flure sind sehr dunkel. mit den schwarzen ZimmerTüren damit fühlte ich mich nicht wohl. das ganze Haus etwas restaurieren täte gut. Aufhellen, mehr Helleigkeit und wohnliche sanitäre Einrichtungen wie alte Wc , Duschbodenplatten erstetzen . würde viel zum Wohlfühlen beitragen. nettes Personal.

It was a good stay overall. Close to buses, shops, zoo, etc. Nice neighborhood. Breakfast was basic - boiled eggs, cereal, bread, juice, coffee, yogurt. Large kitchen, small living room. Negatives: - some staff were irritable as though you were bothering them - No drinking water or fountain available on the property. Gotta buy water or use the tap. - No late checkout or early check-in of any kind. I arrived around 1am and was still charged for the day before even though at 3am, the next day started. Seems unjust. - Bathrooms are locked at random hours so you'll have to search on other floors for another one. If there was a time of day to plan around, that would be helpful. - no control over room temp whether too hot or too cold. Figure it out.

El chico de la recepción muy amable. Un buen lugar para pasar unos días en esta ciudad tan costosa. El desayuno es aceptable. La zona de alrededor es muy bonita y muy segura. Está como a 30 minutos el downtown en metro. Las instalaciones están aceptables. Me hubiera gustado que fuera como esos hostales que tienen ya su cortina para cerrar tu cama.

The staff at this property was excellent. The facility was beautiful. The room provided exactly what it was described as. The area around the hostel was beautiful, safe, and near great coffee shops, bars, restaurants a little bit of shopping. Great walkable area but also easy to catch a ride form as well. Parking was hard to find and would have been impossible without the staff directing us to where the paid parking was located. Would recommend paying for the parking as there as rarely to never a street spot open. Overall we had a great stay and would book this place again.

I gave this two stars because it is a hostel, it is relatively affordable, and they do not claim anything in their ads that isn't true. However, I found the room to be uncomfortably warm and the window did not open easily, there were ants in the room, and the bed(s) were very uncomfortable. The shared bathroom was clean but smelled like sewage each time we went in there. The breakfast was very limited. Our floor was very noisy, with people running around and yelling/talking loudly until 2:00 in the morning. We had booked two nights but left after one. We would not stay there again, but for those whose priority is affordability and don't mind roughing it, it might be ok.

This place is great for a short stay. This is not a place where you should expect 5 star hotel. I loved it! The room was spacious and I made sure to book the room with my own bathroom since I did have my teenage daughter with me. I do NOT recommend staying here if you want parking to be convenient . I used spot hero and then just paid the parking garage $17 for 12 hrs. It was about about a quarter mile walk. I didn’t mind it at all. The neighborhood is close to so many dining options, bars, shops and if you really want to you can walk to the zoo. I was so impressed by how clean the rooms were despite being a hostel! I would definitely stay here again if I don’t have a car to park. They do offer coffee, cereal, yogurt and toast for breakfast. Nothing crazy but a very nice offering. I highly recommend
