Dear "anonymous" guest, we are pleased to read that you seemed to have enjoyed staying with us. Indeed, we are not the city center. It would be impossible to enjoy nature as you seem to have appreciated during your stay. We are only a mere 10 km from to heart of the city if you are craving for night life. As you must have experienced, nearly all sightseeing spots are outside of the city perimeter and scattered around our beautiful province so transportation is needed where ever you are based. So actually, we make a perfect base to explore and we are only 1 km away from one of Chiang Rai's famous spots "Black House Museum". You mention that "prices for homestay" are quite expensive. I am uncertain to what you are referring to... we are not just a home-stay... What we list is what you get. So every now and then it sincerely surprises us to get feedback about location or prices.

We are sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay. Unfortunately, we can not relate why you felt this way as you posted your feedback anonymously. We are very surprised about your comment that the premises and rooms do not look like the photos. Our photos match what you are offered and one of our most received comments is that it is more beautiful than the photos are able to show. Our green oasis near the famous Black House museum is definitely not the city center and that is why our guest choose to stay with us. The main road is only 800 meters away, the vibrant university area with numerous shops and restaurants is nearby and it is only a 20 minute drive (10 km) to the heart of the downtown area. All this is clearly stated in our listing description. I guess you preferred a downtown location.... but then we wonder why you booked Bambuh....

I would like to point out that almost all sightseeing spots in Chiang Rai are outside of the city center which only offers some traditional temples and nightlife. So actually, Bambuh offers a great starting point to explore and where ever you stay, you will need transportation. We are only 1 km from the renowned Black House Museum. If one prefers the hustle and bustle of the downtown area, we recommend to book accommodation there. If you want to experiencing the real Thailand, one should consider our place. Indeed, in the evening there are less dining options as we are not located in the city center. I guess that you missed the information that we can offer home-cooked Thai dinner for our guests? And a taxi to the city is easy to book and it is only a 20 minute drive.

Thanks for your feedback, James. You must be mistaken.... The room you booked is exactly as listed on the booking website (Expedia) ! You did mention this to us and we informed you that an upgrade would be available to a room in one of our traditional Thai houses with a price difference. Unfortunately, you did not reply. Please understand that it is a guest's responsibility to read the room description provided when booking. It is not the hotel's responsibility when you choose the cheapest room and expect to have booked the more expensive room which photos you liked most.To give you feedback.... it was not a pleasant experience for us that you sneaked out without paying your bill for the extra services you ordered.

Dear mr. Rolandos. I am sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay as our guests normally do. Thank you for your feedback. We are a mere 700 meters from the highway and you pass a small Thai village before reaching us at the foothills of the mountains surrounding Chiang Rai. So it's correct we are not a standard hotel along a main road. Most people value this setting. Sorry if it caused you any inconvenience to arrive via smaller roads. You spent a great deal of the morning sitting at our main terrace where other guests enjoyed breakfast and socialized. We had the impression that you were not really into mingling with other people which is perfectly fine as our slogan is "Come and go when you like, interact or stay quiet, and sleep when you feel like it." You are correct that we were preoccupied preparing and serving breakfast the entire morning. It was a very busy day. We sincerely apologise if it gave you the feeling you did not receive enough attention.... We offer a breakfast menu with a breakfast set and many dishes you can order separately at much lower prices. It might have slipped your attention. We can understand that some people find THB 175 for an extensive breakfast set expensive but we strongly believe that the price of food should be defined by the quality and quantity, not because one offers a home-stay setting. And as a home-stay, we always welcome our guests ourselves! I am perplexed by your remark that you were only greeted with "yes?".
