Für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie war mein Aufenthalt ok. Es sind viele kleine Dinge aufgefallen, die in Summe den ersten sehr guten Eindruck geschmälert haben. Der Fussboden im Zimmer war sichtbar verschmutzt. Zeitung gab es ebenfalls nicht täglich und beim Frühstück wurde man auch gern mal vergessen wenn es um das Heissgetränk ging. Fön und Waage im Zimmer waren vorhanden, aber nicht nutzbar. Die vielen Uhren im Badezimmer sind eine nette Idee, nur hat die Zeit nie gestimmt. Die Gegend rund um das Hotel wirkt sehr uneinladend und die nächsten Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind nicht fussläufig erreichbar. Bei Dunkelheit gibt es aus "Sicherheitsgründen" keine Möglichkeit, sich draussen auf der Terasse aufzuhalten. Hat man das "Do not disturb"-Zeichen aktiviert, wird dennoch telefonisch nachgefragt, ob man im Zimmer noch etwas austauschen kann... Positiv hervorheben möchte ich das sehr gute Bett und die Ruhe die man im Zimmer geniesst (trotz einer Party zwei Zimmer weiter). Das Essen war sehr gut, die Coacktails ok. Eine "Jetzt-auf-gleich"-Bügelanfrage wurde umgehend erfüllt. Laundry-Service war super. Jegliche persönliche Anfrage wurde umgehend nach dem Motto "Der Kunde ist König" bearbeitet und erledigt. Aus eigener Erfahrung kann ich sagen, dass es in Chennai Hotels gibt, die meine Erwartungen an ein Hotel dieser Kategorie durchaus erfüllen. Schade dass das Leela derzeit nicht dazu zählt.

Wieder hervorragend
bei meinem zweiten Aufenthalt in diesem Jahr. Lediglich das Housekeeping zur Vorbereitung auf die Nacht könnte verbessert werden, es erfolgt erst nach Aufforderung. Gewöhnungsbedürftig ist auch die Kredit-kartenblockierung beim Einchecken - wozu das, so wenig Vertrauen in die Kunden?

Bestes Hotel in der Stadt
Spitzen Hotel mit super Preis! Ich habe den 5 tägigen Aufenthalt im Leela Palace sehr genossen. Grosse und schöne Zimmer, zuvorkommender Service und ein tolles Frühstück. Mit einem Ausflug in den SPA Bereich des Hotel konnte ich mich super, nach der anstrengenden Reise, erholen. Ich freu mich schon auf den nächsten Aufenthalt!

Das Hotel entsprach voll und ganz meinen Erwartungen und wurde sogar noch übertroffen. Der Service ist sensationell, es wird einem jeder Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen und sich stets nach der Befindlichkeit erkundigt. Das Frühstücksbüffet und die abendlichen Speisen waren ebenfalls sehr empfehlenswert. Der Pool wurde von uns häufig genutzt und dies meist allein. Der poolbereich wurde sehr sauber gehalten und war sehr gepflegt. Das Hotel ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Feel like a king in a real palace in Chennai
One of the very best hotels in Chennai, a real palace. Great value for money. True five stars if not even more. Stunning architecture, completely new, open for just one year. Absolutely clean and proper maintained. Sleeping in bed was extremely comfortable and relaxing. Food is absolutely great in Chinese restaurant and at the 24h open one on L level. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again once the SPA is open. This is my only negative point to this hotel: Why does it take more than one year to open the SPA and provide the typical Ayurvedic treatments to its guests?

besonderes Mobiliar im ganzen Haus
Das einzige Hotel in Chennai mit Meerblick! -aber nicht mit Meerzugang. Man badet dort auch nicht im Meer- zu schmutzig da der Hafen (der nicht zu sehen ist) wohl das Meer verschmutzt. Das Hotel ist sehr schön. Frühstück riesige Auswahl, europäisch oder indisch- was das Herz begehrt. Ich habe mir einmal Waffeln machen lassen, die waren einfach köstlich. Die Eröffnung des Leila Palace Chennai war erst im Januar 2013 und braucht bis zur Fertigstellung ca. noch ein Jahr (Auskunft Personal). Spa gibt es noch nicht. Bar ist noch nicht offen wegen noch fehlender Alkohollizenz. 2 Restaurants sind noch nicht fertig. Es wird noch überall geklopft und gehämmert. Das war zwar nicht störend aber auch nicht gerade angenehm. Von den Bildern im Internet hat man den Eindruck das es überall Balkone gibt, dem ist aber nicht so, die sind i.d. Regel fest verglast. Wir hatten ein Eckzimmer da war dann auf einer Seite ein Balkon den man nutzen konnte. Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt vielleicht noch zu früh, nächstes Jahr sicherlich ein Traum

Beautiful hotel, I was in Chennai on business and came into the hotel wearing very dirty clothing due to my work conditions and never had any issues with staff. Always very cheery and pleasant. The food in the hotel was always very good. And rooms very spacious and clean.

Though pricey the hotel was well located with excellent views of the sea and sunrise. Breakfast option was outstanding. However the bar is overpriced and the rooms were a tad too ornate and uncomfortably brightly decorated. The manager and front desk staff were a bit artificially nice. While hosting guests and treating them special may be one way to treat them care should be taken to be genuine.

We had the Deluxe Room on the 8th floor and were upgraded to a Sea View from the balcony and a pool view from the other large window. The room was larger than the 650 sqft advertised! The bathroom was spectacular with the toilet enclosed by a door from the rest of the bathroom. The pool was also spectacular since it's a 35m infinity pool. One fellow swimmer told me that he's a Chennai resident who has a membership to the pool since Leela's pool is one of the best in all Chennai! The breakfast buffet is quite good and was included in my stay. I had dinner at China XO and enjoyed the vegetarian stir fry.

I stayed at this hotel last year and it was very nice, so I stayed there again this year. This time we had a few small problems, but when we reported them to the staff, they quickly responded and resolved them. Also, the restaurant was very delicious and the staff was very kind. I thought I would stay again.

Really Amazing Hotel!!
This was my third or fourth stay in this hotel, and the best so far. In the past I have found the mattresses hard, but this time they gave some more bedding to cushion it and I had a great sleep. As always the facilities are top notch and immaculate. I love the spa and pool area and staff very attentive. Breakfast amazing, as usual, and for this price you cannot even get a two or three star hotel in Europe and this is one of the best hotels you can stay in! My only quibble is that the music on in the lobby \ lounge area is a bit repetitive and loud. I love Indian classical music and play it at home, but the droning sound all the time can be a bit uncomfortable, esp the flute sound. I don't see many people sitting around in what is a stunning area. The bar is also incredible and the gardens are great. So quiet at night and slept so well. Highly recommend. Prices can vary quite a lot so worth checking periodically.

The hotel is beautiful! The view from the lobby is a dream. Also the pool area provides a serene backdrop for lounging around. My complaints are the quality of the food during large events, the service provided by some workers, and an odor in our room. We stayed over the New Year holiday. On our first day, we enjoyed an excellent meal in the buffet restaurant. However, after that, the food got way more expensive (holiday prices) and the quality diminished considerably. Food was cold and under seasoned. Thankfully, on our last day, the holiday dining was over, so we got to enjoy another good meal before leaving. While many workers seemed kind and willing to help, the person who checked us in stood out as one of the workers who did not. The whole process felt rushed and his general affect did little to make us feel welcome. There were some dining room attendants who also approached us like this. However, there were also some workers who went above and beyond to accommodate us, like a front desk employee who spent nearly 15 minutes helping me wrap my saree, or the kind women who greeted us inside of the lobby each day. Another helpful worker was one of the front desk managers, who put in a lot of effort to try to make our stay a good one. We noticed a mildew odor in our room and shared this complaint. The issue was never completely resolved, but the manager did offer us a new room (a hassle for us) use dehumidifier and fresheners to fix our room, and checked in daily.
