Nice quite hotel with some small issues
Hotel is very quite, rooms are nice and clean. bathroom needs some work , shower was leaking. Air conditioning made terrible noise at night even after i turned it off. Breakfast is very nice. Restaurant for dinner was bad, small portions, taste not very good. Steak was very bad, max. 0,5" thick and taste was bad.

sechtägige Urlaubsreise, um den Raum um Gloucester zu erkunden. Gut ausgestattetes Hotel mit Betten, die einen er- holsamen Schlaf boten. Außerdem bot es uns die Möglichkeit auch drau0en das Essen einnehnen zu können. Mit einem reizvollen Blick in die Landschaft. Gutes Angebot am Frühstücksbüfett, nette Servicekräfte.

Unfortunately we could not use the main dining room because there were two tour groups. Claire (?) at the front desk when she told of this conflict did not suggest the bar as an option but suggested to go into the city someplace. Later I asked if the bar was open and she said yes.

I didnt like anything. 1. Check in late for an hour. 2. Waiting area , bar/lounge dirty , tables full of used plates, glasses etc, unhygienic. 3. Over priced food and no quality, for a 8oz steak dinner £36 too much. 4. Housekeeping left all dirty towels in the bathroom. 5. Room service phone never answered. 6. On the way back home received calls from reception staff that outstanding amount to pay for breakfast, which paid at the time of check in. 7. Rude behaviour of staff on phone, sent bank details, still waiting for confirmation from the hotel the issue resolved. 8. Never stay in a Marriot hotel in life. Hope this is enough, very unpleasant stay and over hyped and stressful after left the hotel too. Nightmare !!

I did not enjoy my stay . On the plus side the Hotel is in a beautiful setting . Staff were friendly and helpful however , possibly not enough of them to service the large number of guests , to ensure tables were cleaned and cleared in the bar area. I had not booked a table in the resturant so to go to the bar, had mediocre food which was expensive , the table was not fully cleared and wiped when my food was delivered. The breakfast was awful , clearly not enough staff to cope with the volume of people and to replenish items , I had to ask for simple basic food items that were missing as were plates bowls etc . Really had not expected this at this classification of hotel . Further more my stay was interrupted by some very noisy dogs in the room opposite me , who were endlessly barking . I reported this out of concern for the dogs on my departure, I was surprised that the housekeeping / security had not already picked this up .

I enjoyed our time and felt looked after through our stay. The pool and spa facilities were superb with helpful staff. We found all the staff were helpful. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Even when the pool had to be closed for one hour we were kept well informed on the reopening schedule. In fact we found all staff very friendly in every department of the hotel from room maids to Resturant/ room service to bar and front desk staff.

First impressions, the grounds impressive, the entrance to the hotel clean tidy and having evidence of regular maintenance. Receptionist pleasant and informative. The main area open plan which is very spacious, airy and clean. Near by is a bar with plenty of varied seats to suit the ergonomics of many and a restaurant. The corridors leading to the rooms were airy and odourless; decor a little tired but clean. Our room was very spacious, inviting and with adequate amenities. Bed, pillow and duvet extremely comfortable. Breakfast and evening meal there was plenty of choice and staff very helpful. Our only two negatives are:- 1) did not approve of a customer's dog(bulldog) being allowed to sit and drool on a dinning chair near the bar area. 2) witness the common practice of staff leaving what appeared to be unused servettes and cutlery on the tables when cleaning/clearing the tables ready for the next customer. This is a serious health and safety concern.

The hotel is in excellent condition and the staff were generally professional and helpful. Two things marred my stay: 1. I stayed for 2 nights and when I returned to my room on the second evening, at about 5:30pm, I found it had not been serviced - bed unmade, bathroom as I had left it etc. I reported this to reception and was promised that someone would come in to refresh the room but no-one did. 2. I paid £119.01 for the first night when I booked the room and another £15.00 for breakfast on the first morning (my company paid for the 2nd night and 2nd breakfast). My invoice/receipt says that I paid £102.22 on check-in and another £15.00 for breakfast. The £16.79 difference is not a big deal but awkward when it comes to claiming expenses.

The room was clean, staff were friendly. Breakfast was awful no cups all coffee machines broken down, 15 minutes waiting for any food which was not great. Serious safeguarding issues with mobile phones in the sauna very unpleasant experience for a female. Which I did report. I would not say this was four stars 2 at best unfortunately. More staff needed as especially when large functions are on.

Disappointing stay
We had to wait 10 minutes for someone to appear on the reception desk when we wanted to check in. The room was clean though for some reason we were given what appears a disabled room.The bed was comfy and spacious but our first nights sleep was disturbed by a noisy fridge in the room. Initially it looked like the only way to switch it off at the socket was to unscrew the base fitting to access the switch but the night porters didn't have access to a screwdriver and maintenance was not on site until 8am. This spoiled a break for my wife's 60th birthday. The breakfast was really good and we did enjoy the spa facilities.

Comfortable and clean
A nice hotel, checking in was quick and the lady on reception was very friendly. The room was spacious and clean though the darker wood furniture looked a little worn. Nice ‘This Works’ products in the bathroom. Was kept awake a bit with a buzzing/hammering type noise coming from my bathroom I think. When I stayed (weekday) the hotel was Being used a lot for conferences and you had to go through the conference room area to get to my room, so there was a fair amount of people and chatter about. Also some areas smelled of smoke which I think was from lots of conference members smoking outside during breaks and then coming back in again. Visited the pool and spa area. Small sauna and steam room. Nice pool, but the jacuzzi wasn’t working.

Good quality hotel facilities but minimum service.
A comfortable hotel with good facilities, immaculately clean rooms, comfy beds but service seemed lacking. I.e. arrive and nobody manning reception, go to bar and wait for bar person so go to reception to ask. Meal in bar wanting drinks but queue so long its easier to fetch our own drinks from room and bring back to bar. No room service available, collect yourself. You get the idea. Bare minimal staffing

Ok but really should do better!
Bit of a mix. Room was very comfortable and very clean. Restaurant food was very good. Leisure facilities good but pool felt like someone had filled it from the cold tap. Only a few brave people swim in that! Bar staff on Friday evening had zero customer service skills and obviously have had no training. No interest in customers at all. Suffice to say, they didn’t get a tip! The guy in the leisure centre on Saturday was the same. Reception staff friendly and helpful, as were the restaurant staff on Saturday evening. They DID get a tip :-) Overall, nice stay. I probably wouldn’t rebook as, for the price, the service is just nowhere near good enough and the cold swimming pool was a let down. Delta is supposed to be one of Marriott’s premium brands - so no way is this hotel up to scratch.

Had some personal property accidentally damaged by the housekeeping staff. Went down to the reception on 3 separate occasions to try and get some sort of resolution. Nobody was able to help me and on all three occasions said they would pass it on to their manager who would be in touch. Know all most a week on from checking out I’ve still not heard anything from the manager. Very disappointing.

It’s a business hotel - so that’s the starting point. Rooms are functional but not outstanding. The air conditioning is really noisy though and not terribly effective. Food really good - amazing hake and nicely presented. Overall enjoyed it but difficult to see how the price point was justified.

We had two rooms one room had a large damp patch and the other room had body hair in the bath tub Staff was friendly Food was good Many wood veneer table surfaces were damaged in the restaurant and quite a few chairs have stains on them When we informed the receptionist at check out about the damp patch she seemed to know exactly where it was It is not small the wet patch covers the entire corner of the ceiling It suggested to me that the hotel knew about the defect instead of putting the room out of service it was allocated to guest use This is not Marriott standard I have written to the GM and I expect that I will have the Hotel’s comment soon

Had a one night stay, great hotel, nice size room & bed.. Had room service burger & chips, really impressed, lovely food 🍲

Bedroom excellent except maintenance could be improved (broken std lamp plug, broken door safety catch, both fixed during stay). Staff excellent (provided extra easy chair on request). Staff culture and training very good, but restaurant woefully understaffed and staff grossly overworked at peak times.

Good rooms but service below expectations
Hotel is bright and rooms were spacious, with a large comfortable bed and big well-finished bathroom. Staff dealt with email enquiries before our visit promptly and helpfully. However bar area was poor, service was slow and glasses piled up everywhere, with staff complaining amongst themselves. It felt more like a late-night in a pub than hotel bar. Breakfast the next morning was similarly patchy for finding staff, we and others had to ask for cups, bowls etc. multiple times. Didn't feel a Marriott-level of service, especially for price

I like that the property was accessible to grounds for walking. There were severe inefficiencies in the service due to lack of staff, reception and breakfast desk was unmanned for over 20 mins. Flexibility on food service at breakfast was poor. Table left uncleared for for quite sometime, guests had to move the items to other tables to be seated.

Great room, probably wouldn't stay again.
Quite a long wait at check-in, 1 member of staff dealing with a coach load of guests - poor lady was doing her best. We got only part information on check-in, luckily we picked up information from other guests' check-ins. Room itself was excellent, spacious, bed was extremely comfortable, temperature easy to control. Found a left over "short and curly" hair in the bathtub (before either of us used it), which was a little grim. It was on a section of the bath at the sloped part that wouldn't usually get water on it - the worst part, it was still there the following afternoon after the room had been "cleaned" again. Staff throughout the stay weren't very attentive - often had to go looking for them (bar / reception / restaurant) and then they didn't give the impression they were "happy to help". Overall, the hotel served its purpose for what we required for the weekend, wouldn't rush to stay again at this place. For the money paid, would expect a lot more.
