Ein perfekter Ort um den Urlaub zu genießen. Die Küche im Appartement könnte etwas besser ausgestattet sein (zB Toaster, mehr Messer/Löffel und Schüsseln,…) Frühstück lecker, auf der Karte „nur“ drei Auswahl Möglichkeiten aber wenn man nachfragt bekommt man dennoch weitere/andere Dinge, daher alles Top. Personal total unauffällig und immer sehr hilfsbereit.

Das Hotel wird einem hohen Anspruch gerecht
Das Hotel hält was es verspricht. Die Zimmer sind top. Der Pool sieht sehr schön aus, ist aber eher zum abkühlen und es gibt nur 4 frei verfügbare Liegen. Ansonsten ist alles top. Besonders das Frühstück war hervorragend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt

Sicher eins der schönsten Hotels in Puerto Viejo! Alles Fußläufig erreichbar, wunderschön angelegter Garten mit Pool. Alles sauber, alle sehr freundlich! Lediglich das Frühstück könnte etwas Abwechslungsreicher sein.

Sehr angenehme Hotelanlage, freundliches Personal, sehr sauber. Der Pool ist sehr klein, dafür ist der Strand nicht weit.

Hotel optisch klasse, aber mit viel Nachholbedarf
Positiv: - Anlage optisch sehr ansprechend und gepflegt - Geschmacklich gutes Frühstück Negativ: - Überschaubare Servicequalität der Mitarbeiter (z.B. geringe Aufmerksamkeit beim Frühstück, Lobby sporadisch besetzt, keine Lunchmöglichkeiten) - Hotel nicht richtig ausgestattet und eingespielt (z.B. Poolhandtücher nicht ausreichend vorhanden, zu wenig Liegen, viel zu wenig Parkplätze) - Sehr abseitige Lage - Zimmer sehr hellhörig und transparent (vermeintlich nicht-durchlässige Folie der Fensterflächen ist bei Licht komplett durchsichtig und ermöglicht Duschen nur in Badesachen - außer man möchte jeden Hotelgast daran teilhaben lassen -> betrifft Premium Suites)

Das Hotel hat einen tollen Style. Alles in gutem Zustand da noch nicht so alt. Es wird den ganzen Tag geputzt, gegossen und getan. Wirklich grossartig. Die Lage ist 3 Querstrassen von der Hauptstrasse entfernt, damit ist es ruhig, aber auch etwas wilder. Aber in Costa Rica ist das halt so. Man muss keine Angst dort haben, wir sind jeden Abend zu Essen vor gelaufen und wieder zurück, es gab nie eine Ansatz zum ärgern. Das Personal ist für mich etwas zu zurückhaltend. Man könnte eigenständig auf die Gäste zugehen z.B. beim Frühstück oder beim Wiederkommen, das könnte auch der Chef vorleben. Hier sehe ich noch Verbesserungsbedarf. Fragen und Anregungen findet niemand schlecht. Wir würden das Hotel sofort wieder wählen, es war und ist eines der herausragenden in der Gegend. Es gibt viel Backpacker das Umami glänzt mit Stil. Von unserer Seite absolute Empfehlung.

Stylisches Hotel mit erstklassigem Restaurant
Sehr schöne neue kleine Anlage, der Manager ist sehr freundlich und spricht fließend deutsch. Das Restaurant ist ein Highlight. Die kleinen baulichen Verbesserungsmöglichkeiten werden sicher noch realisiert.

Kleine Oase nahe am Zentrum
Eine wirkliche wunderschöne Anlage und komfortable Zimmer! :) Das Hotel ist ziemlich neu (Stand März 2018). Entsprechend wird teilweise noch gebaut und es gibt einige kleine Punkte, die verbesserungswürdig sind. Bin mir aber sicher, das wird sich einfahren. Absolute Empfehlung!

The staff was very friendly, able to answer questions and constantly cleaning. The area is walkable to the main strip in Puerto Viejo. My friend and I were concerned before we arrived because questions about a shuttle took over a week for a response, but everything was fine once we got there. There was a power outage in town for about 4 hours. There was no backup generator, but we were still able to get breakfast.

Beautiful hotel with not many rooms, so there was a nice personal feel to everything. The rooms were beautiful, and the pool was a great place to hang out. Everyone working there was so friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this hotel if you’re in Puerto Viejo!

O hotel é bem bonito, como nas fotos. Está bem perto da rua principal, mas longe o sufienciente para nao ser afetado pela bagunça. É bem reservado e a equipe ésimpática. Coisas que poderiam melhorar: disponibilizar mais cadeiras na área da piscina e o café da manhã, que poderia ter mais opções internacionais.

Beautiful property that’s walking distance to the beach and main strip. No lunch or dinner on site. Get daily housekeeping to get rid of the huge flies that enter the room. Low water pressure. Not much of a noise buffer between rooms.

My room wasn’t available until after well after check-in. I sat by the pool in the bar and got bit by a mosquito and was bit again the next morning when by the pool. The only two bites I got in my ten days in Costa Rica and I contracted Dengue. Use bug spray here!!! The hotel is down dark residential streets and not safe for walking. The accommodations were nice but service was lackluster. Not good for a solo traveler.

Hi Amy ,Good morning, in relation to your comment we are very interested and we give it all the importance. As I see in your reservation, your room is a master on the ground floor and not on the upper floor, this was indicated. At check-in they were told that the reservation was made in a master (ground floor). However, at reception they were told that on the first night there was no possibility of moving them to a room on the upper floor and that they could do so the next day, since the room was very quiet, one of the most private and removed from the central area ( because we did not have availability that night) however, you did not request the change, which is why it was considered that you felt satisfiedThank you for staying at our hotel

We absolutely loved staying at the Umami Hotel! It was extremely clean. Everything smelled fresh from the linens to the towels. We had an amazing breakfast every morning with fresh fruit and local cuisine. The service was spectacular! The front desk was very helpful for all our needs even ordering dinner from local restaurants to be delivered to the hotel. We had massages during our stay also and they were heavenly. Our time at Umami was quiet and relaxing but a close enough walk to everything we wanted to do. We enjoyed every minute of it!!

AC Lacking in “ 2 bedroom apartment”
Staff was very nice. The place is nice and quiet. However, not worth paying premium for two bedroom apartment as the living room is NOT air conditioned. Given the oppressive heat it renders this extra space useless. TV is only in living room not the bedrooms so that pretty much means no TV. To make matters worse the bedroom AC units are small and can barely cool the rooms enough to barely sleep comfortably.

The hotel has become dated since the pictures that can be found on hotels.com website. The property overall was not very clean. The rooms however were okay on the cleanliness side. The room we had was spacious. We would not come back, the price is not worth what you get in return. We did however, appreciate the early check in and service for drinks by the pool.

Lovely hotel, rooms really nice and well appointed. Not much storage space. Staff pretty average, not particularly interested. Pool is basically a plunge pool and nothing more. It was too full so skimmers weren't working properly and the sump cover wasn't even attached which is poor Health & Safety. We loved Puerto Viejo most out of our entire stay in Costa Rica. Honestly, if we went again not sure we would go for somewhere with a pool as the beach is so close and so nice. Costa Rica for us was not a chill by the pool kind of holiday but rather a go explore!!

Hi Andy ,Thank you for your comments and suggestions that help us improve.Regarding the issue of the pool skimmers, when it rains too much, they are not able to quickly level the water level, so they reach the limit.As for one of the drain covers, it did come loose and we had to wait 24 hours until the spare part arrived to change it.As you will understand, all the technical material for spare parts must be brought from San Jose because in the area where we are, there are no spare parts warehouses of this type and we regret that it was during your stay.We hope that on another occasion that you visit us that these things do not happen but it is inevitable that they do happen sometimes and we consider that it is not something that has affected you particularly nor did it represent any danger
