Sehr unkomplizierter Checkin auch Stunden vor der eigentlichen Checkin-Zeit. Gepaeck wurde vom Lobby-Boy mit aufs Zimmer gebracht. Er zeigte auch den etwas komplizierten Weg bis zum Zimmer. Auschecken war ebenfalls unkompliziert und schnell. Zimmer und Umgebung war sehr leise. Grosses Fenster im Badezimmer. Grosser Fernseher, Kuehlschrank, Minibar, Wasserkocher, Zimmersafe, Atemschutzmaske fuer Notfaelle (Feuer). Betten ohne meterdicke Matraze, aber nicht unkomfortabel.

Hervorragende Lage im Zentrum Beijings. Fast alle touristischen Highlights sind fussläufig erreichbar. Sehr gutes Frühstücksbuffet, schnelles WLan. Die Sauberkeit zumindest unseres Zimmers könnte besser sein. Diesbezügliche Reklamationen wurden vom Servicepersonal umgehend behoben. Leider sind die Zimmer im renovierten älteren Teil des Hotels sehr klein und bieten wenig Ablagemöglichkeiten für Koffer und Bekleidung.

Das Hotel ist sehr sauber und liegt zentral zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten. Die Metro ist gleich um die Ecke und auch der Bus hält in 100-200m Entfernung. Am besten ist aber das der Shuttle Bus direkt vor dem Hotel hält. So kann man mit den Bus direkt vom und zum Airport fahren für 25 Yuan pro Person. Die Fahrt hat am morgens um 7:00 ungefähr 60 Minuten gedauert. Ein Taxi ist auch schneller und der Bus war fast komplett leer. Man muss aber das passende Geld dabei haben, weil Wechselgeld ist nicht immer möglich. Im Hotel sollte man darauf achten das man kein Zimmer nach Süden oder Osten bekommt in der kalten Jahreszeit. Die Zimmer heizen sich durch die große Glasfront ziemlich schnell in der Sonne auf und die Klimaanlage ist noch nicht eingeschaltet bei kühlen Temperaturen in der Nacht. Somit ist es am Nachmittag und Abend eher warm im Zimmer und erst in den frühen Morgenstunden ist es wieder angenehm kühl. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und abwechslungsreich. Sicher nach 18 Tagen hat man sich mehr als einmal durch alles durchgefuttert aber es war nicht langweilig. Die Eiersachen werden immer frischgemacht, genauso wie die Waffeln und Creps.

Komfortables Hotel in guter Lage
Komfortable Zimmer und gute Betten. Auch das Frühstücksbuffet ist recht gut. Die Mitarbeiter(innen) an der Rezeption sprechen ausreichend englisch. Die Lage in der Nähe der Wangfujing-Straße ist recht gut. Die Verbotene Stadt ist gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Bis zum Beihai-Park sind es etwa 2,5 km zu Fuß.

My wife got stuck in the round electric entrance for about 5mins, banging on the glass door and no staff noticing that she was in trouble until another person who also stayed at the hotel to assist her. Over all the hotel is a bit aged. The lifts are still using a very old style sensor that the doors have to physically trigger the sensor before they open again instead of infrared sensors.

Overall is average. Location is good. Room is dim and old looking. No foul smell though. Room service & Do Not Disturb is still using the card still. Security wise: Some lifts does not require the room card to scan while heading up to the rooms. Only 1 lift requires so. Not sure why the double standard. Room cleaning service keep missing out things every other day. Once they didn't put new bathr towels when they took the olds ones away. Another time they took the toilet floor mat away and didnt replace it. Bathtub was not able to stop water well, hence we are not able to use the bathtub. Overall, we have high hopes on Novotel since our experience with Novotel in many countries are generally good. But this was definitely a can do much better kind of stay.

The air conditioning system does not work in the room. I tried to set the temperature but the dial seems to be completely broken . Cold air continue to make the room very cold , the same temperature as outside ie 3-8 degrees. I caught a cold as a result. Hopefully, the hotel management does some about this ,

A 8mins walk to APM for plenty of good food and WFJ walking street. Breakfast was good. Conveniently located between 2 MRT stations. Abt 30mins walk to Wumen Forbidden City. Many Hutongs to explore within the area. Chang A street is abt 30mins walk too. Hotel room is spacious, just looks little old with many marks on doors and walls. Water pressure was good too. Generous supply of mineral water daily and toiletries.The only minus for me was the shower curtain. It smells. Perhaps hotel could consider replacing them.

It's OK!
I would describe this hotel as OK. I stayed in better, but I have also stayed in far worse! Pros: - Easy and quick check in. - Rooms are of a good size. - Beds are fine and comfy. - Stayed in the freezing Beijing winter, but the rooms were nice and warm. Cons: - A little old and dated. Could do with a refurb. - Rooms a little dark and dingy. - Limited English beyond the reception staff (e.g. room service). - Room service was always very quick, but one meal arrived completely cold. It had obviously been sat there for a long time (perhaps a cancelled order from another guest). - Limited options for western tastes at breakfast. Fine for a short stay if you're on a budget.

Gut: Sauberkeit, Personal & Service und Ausstattung
Nice hotel convenient to shopping and train stations. Bedroom was very spacious and comfortable. Heating was was on and off not reliable. Bathroom in 1018 needs updating very dark and corking on tiles around shower was not clean edges need to be trimmed. Looks terrible lazy repair job. Breakfast was very nice with great selection of western food. Our trip to Beijing was very enjoyable.

This hotel looked fatigued and was not well maintained. Everything looked so old and tired. The room smell of toilet and the heating in the room was not sufficient.
