Description

Reflect on the the atrocities that took place under Nazi rule with a sobering and informative visit to the Dachau Concentration Camp. With an experienced guide, view the brutal environment prisoners were forced to inhabit as you listen to commentary and visit poignant memorials that pay tribute to the thousands of lives lost at this site.

Ride out of Munich to the notorious site of the Dachau Concentration Camp—one of the earliest such camps developed after Hitler's rise to power. When you arrive, follow your guide through the barracks, cells, and gas chambers, discussing the practises of the Third Reich as they attempted to eradicate prisoners of the camps.

Examine museum exhibits and documentary films that offer further insight into the camp's history, and make sombre stops at memorials set up around the grounds to pay your respects. Feel free to ask questions as you explore, instilling your visit with historical context to gain a greater understanding of Hitler's Final Solution.

Although the guide was very personable her skills as a guide were quite poor. She wasted a significant amount of time reading what we could have read and then asked us questions like we were 6th graders instead of just telling us the information that we expected from the tour. She would take long pauses after asking us if we knew the answer to a question, wasting time that later took away from time we might have spent in the museum and book store. I would not recommend her for another tour.

Visite extrêmement enrichissante. La guide était très compétente et a fourni une foule d'informations relativement aux origines du camp, son utilisation, etc. Un "must" lors d'une première visite à Munich.

Our tour guide Eric was wonderful and very knowledgeable. I suggest bringing very comfortable walking shoes as its several hours of walking and a bottle of water because theres no places to get anything.
