Description

On a tour of an idyllic region where old traditions endure, discover how Appenzeller cheese is made and buy famous Lindt chocolate at the Lindt Chocolate Shop. Enjoy the fascinating view from a cable car as your travel up to the peak of Hoher Kasten, and visit the charming village of Appenzell.

Board a comfortable minibus and travel along Lake Zurich to the Lindt Chocolate Shop, where you can experience delicious Swiss chocolate at its best. Pass Rapperswil, known for its medieval castle, and head to the hilly green region of Appenzell. In Stein, visit the factory where the famous Appenzeller cheese is made – here, you can learn about the region’s traditions and savour a cheese sample before continuing to Brülisau.

Take a trip in the aerial cable car to the peak of Hoher Kasten, a beautiful mountain that towers at a height of 6,000 feet (1,800 m). Take in the fascinating views over the gently rolling hills of Appenzellerland, the Rhine Valley and the Vorarlberg in Austria, before strolling through the Alpine Garden to visit the revolving restaurant.

Next, take a guided walk through the small town of Appenzell. The pedestrian zone’s decorative wooden façades provide a charming backdrop to your stroll, and you can enjoy a spot of shopping here during your free time. Before you head back to Zurich, your guide takes you to a traditional bakery to learn about the famous Appenzeller Biberli, a delicious gingerbread with honey and nuts.

Lindt chocolate outlet was great. Cheese factory was a big let down. I was expecting a lot of different types of cheese but they pretty much had the same cheese cured for different amount of time. The town of Appenzell was cute! We could not see much from the top where the cable car takes you as it was very foggy! Our tour guide was a nice person!

This is daylight robbery. This is not a proper chocolate & cheese factory tour, it is a shopping tour when they take you to the factory but ask you to stand in front to take some photos and subsequently asked you to go to the shop located in front of the factory to buy stuffs. Frankly, do you think we are so dim to a point that you find it ok to just bring us for shopping? Shopping is a universal thing, we dont need your help on that.
